2016 370z Sport - Pearl White - All mine
Hello 370 owners and enthusiasts,
I've wanted a Nissan Z back when I was only a wee lad. I remember seeing the 240z and thinking it was such a simple and elegant car, the sound it made reminded me of the cars my father used to race in Mexico but with a refined dulcet tone, one with the spirit to run like the wind. A few years later some updated models were developed but the 300zx was the next one to catch my eye and passion for cars. My father would tell me about Steve Millen, a professional race car driver from New Zealand and how he won several races with the 300zx twin turbo. He held him in high regard as they both shared a passion for racing. I wanted to learn all I could and possibly race. Back then, I lived in Mexico when the devaluation of the peso hit the country with a devastating economic blow. Our family had to move to the states and start all over. I felt like at some point I would learn how to drive a manual transmission but my father got sick and passed away in 2001. I was in high school and my dreams of learning how to do the "manly" things in life like shaving or driving a manual transmission were shattered. After that, the 350z was developed and it seemed attainable but only if I stopped going to school and focused on working like a dog just to get it. My father was a highly educated man and my mother continues to learn on a daily basis, so the idea of me quitting school would make my father turn in his grave and probably drive my mother to join him. I have finished my degree, cracked the books once more for my masters, and got the right job. My duties as the son of loving parents have been met and my educational goals are continuously evolving. Now I have more goals to reach and others to score but I only want to drive and remember my father. I want him to see that I learned to drive a manual transmission on my own, something I know he would have loved experience with me. -André |
