Hi All!
I am new to this forum and new to the Z world. I just bought a 2015 base model, MT, in Gun Metal Grey. Why the base model???? - I don't track and I can't afford $400 tires. (Did I really want the sport package, yes. But I went practicial on a non-practical car.) It is my daily driver. Car History: 2006 Hyundai GT (2006-2011) *These don't get enough respect* 2007 Mazda RX-8 (2012-2013) *Loved this car but too many problems* 2013 Subaru WRX (2013-Last weekend) Absolutely loved my WRX and I could go on and on about the difference between it and the Z, however I had to get rid of it beacuse of foot swelling issues. The seat was too deep for me and I was having to push down the seat to push down the clutch. In Houston, TX traffic was making my foot swell everyday. On Valentines day driving 2 hours to Galveston during rush hour once we got to the nice resturant for dinner.... my feet were too big to fit into my high heels. So here I am - with a Z! (The only other car that fit my seating placement was a BMW135i x.x don't wanna pay for that maintence) I paid 27,400 with truck mat, light up, sils, foor mats, mud flap thingys, vin etching, and tint already done. Low balled on my trade but wasn't too bad. Plans for the Z?? Oil Cooler first!!! (Houston, TX) traffic seems to need it from reading other forum members that live in super hot states. Plasti dip my emblems and door handles. Having a black satin tail light tint done. Then after money recovery.... Stillen intake and HKS exhaust. (1 - 2years) Then after I get paid more.... TE37s and actual decent sized tires here I come!! That's about it! Not super into modding, but I want to make it my own. Rze |

Lol.. For some reason I thought you were a guy while I read this.. So when I got to your feet swelling too much for the heels.. Made me laugh.. Anyway welcome!
Also.. Plastidip the handles? Haven't used it but won't the repeated touching and pulling on the handles scrape it off? |

Nope... not a guy! I forget most people on forums are guys!
Welp.. with the plasti-dip on the handles... I think I will have to reapply every 1-2 years, but after the first application might see if I could get them powdercoated. We will see.... it was an emergency purchase after visiting the doctor with a swollen foot. My Options: 370z 135i or have to buy an automatic..... |

First welcome to the forums. It must have been interesting going from a Mazda RX-8 to the WRX. Sorry to hear about you having to give up the car cause of your foot. I have never owned a WRX but they sure are fun to drive. I hope that you will enjoy your Z just as much.

Thank you everyone!
My first opinions on the WRX versus Z would be: WRX is faster to 60 and can be driven hard in the rain. And has two cup holders and a lot of trunk space. The dash rattles.... a crap ton. It's fun, and fast, and cheap! Z is a much better put together car. There is no dash rattle and it feels more planted. The note 4 does not fit in any of the cubby holes of the Z so going to have to buy a smaller phone. Z is easier to park and gives me a lot more space in my 1 car garage. Z has a better power range in all of the gears, you have to be in the right gear in the WRX to hit turbo range. The Z also gets a lot more attention then any of my cars. People just think it is so cool. I'm here just thinking, "but my other cars were cool too...." My mom even loves the car she used to have a 300zx 2+2 when I was a child. Then she moved to a G35 and now a BMW X6. I like the gas pedal better, its not one of those hanging ones. It's a really good car, I just miss hooning in the rain. In my opinion the RX-8 was my favorite car I have ever owned. It fit me 5'4 had a small shift knob and was just fabulous in every single way, except all the transmission issues I had with it. I had the Mazdaspeed intake that sat below the radiator so I couldn't drive it in the rain. Our other car is a Boss 302 Mustang and that is not very safe in the rain either... lol. I am hoping the Z will get there, but I need a smaller shift knob. I also made the dealership buy me a shoulder pad thing because the seat belt rubs on me. I want it to be louder, but that will come in time. |
