Howdy
Just stopping in say hi. My name is Jim and although I don't have a 370 yet, I have begun the search. The gut tells me I'll have one within a month or so.
Right now I have my sights on a 2012 Black Cherry beast with 20k miles. Pictures look great and I'll get more info tomorrow. Stay tuned... |
Nice! Looking forward to see your good news. I was super excited the days before picking mine up. I suggest getting a sport package at the minimum, you will be much happier.

PS... sorry about the double picture post coming. I did one in Tapatalk and it didn't show. I just posted the picture again from the PC and saw the message that it's moderated.

Welcome!!!

The Sports Package includes an LSD.
I bought my NISMO Z from Carmax. It was actually priced very well compared to other Z's in the area. Just throwing that out there in case this other deal falls through. Good luck with your search! |
I wasn't having much luck on Carmax looking for LSD. Kinda bugged me a bit.

Dont make that mistake of not getting the sports package, you'll regret it once you get the base in the long run.

1. Synchro rev match- which high end sports cars have such as Porsche, Corvette C7 only now. 2. Big brake kits Akebono comparable to Brembo 3. Rear trunk spoiler, front lower chin spoiler. 4. LSD 5. Sports Forged Ray Wheels 19's compared to base of 18 6. Sports tune suspension. Everything if bought individually will cost you more than 10k. |

I guess I say all that to say, think about what you might do with the car once you have it, so that you don't spend more than you need to upfront, if you end up replacing some/most of the parts that you bought the Sports package for anyway. No matter what you choose, it's a great, fun car! |
Oh, and also work in to your budget room for an oil cooler, regardless of what year you buy. I think the 2011 and later models have a small oil cooler, but it's not worth jack. A decent cooler will run you $400 and up. You'll thank me if you drive hard at all come July and August. Especially in the south.
Also, the '09s and, I think, 'the 10s are notorious for steering wheel lock failures. Not a big deal as long as you have the dealer fix it as a condition of the sale, fix it on your own prior to it failing, or simply pull the fuse prior to it failing. No matter what, you need to address it. There are many threads related to this subject, so just do a quick search. If you have any problems finding the threads, let me know and I'll post the links tomorrow. |
This car is just going to be a daily driver for me and my wife, kinda why I'm not getting an M6. I don't plan to do too much to it. I just want something that is going to be fun to drive and more fun when I get a wild hair up my butt. I do require a very nice sound system, as I spend a lot of time in traffic. Major audio upgrade is a must, which is why I'm drawn to the models without Bose and especially nav.
My fun car is the 73 Karmann Ghia I'm building... Full Mendeola suspension, Porsche brakes, Willwood goodies, 2.5L Turbo Subi conversion. 325HP in a 1900lbs car should be fun. |

25 row (or 34 if you're inclined), thermostatic from Z1 - https://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_37...oducts_id=4135
or 25 row, thermostatic from Stillen - STILLEN Gold Series Oil Cooler Kit - Performance 400643 | STILLEN I purchased the latter, as it should be sufficient and was less expensive. |
Looks like a relatively simple install.

Good luck with the purchase. BlackCherry was my first choice in color as well until I found a super deal on a Pearl White. Color became secondary at that point.

Pearl white is one of the best sought after color for the Z good choice hulagirl and Congrats!
|
The more I look, the more I want to just deal with the 19's, cuz the sport package is sexy.
I hope I don't have to deal with a front plate. By chance, can that just be removed or does it leave holes like in the G37? |

The transfer fee for the one I was looking at is $749. I'm not paying $749 for the privilege to buy their car. I shall look elsewhere. |

Yeah, screw that. I had one transferred from B'ham and paid $99, I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hard to go wrong with Monterey Blue.

It's pretty and wreaks of LSD.
