I'll be completely honest, if I drive over an hour I have a tendency to fall asleep

I'm an xpat from Park Slope Bklyn living in LV. It might be hard to imagine no pot holes or graffiti and free parking

80mph is avg on our version of the belt pkwy.

I bet you wont fall asleep once we hit Skyline drive. Is a fun road to drive although I have never driven on it but had ridden on my bike countless times.

I live in Long Island and commute to Brooklyn and Manhattan daily. I count on 2 1/2 each way. Just got the 370 roadster a few months ago. There is nothing like driving around Manhattan with the roof down. However, my former main car, a BMW Z4 coupe has been brutalized by the horrific streets. Cost me $2k just this year on broken wheels, slashed tires and bent suspension stuff. I have a lightly lowered NSX I just can't bring in anymore.
