Hope it never happens, but if it came down to the Z or my Ducati, there would be a NISMO for sale.:crying:

If/when my wife and I decide to have kids I'm still keeping the bike. I'm just not looking forward to the conversation where I have to explain to a 16-year-old boy why I'm allowed to have a crazy fast bike and he's not.:rofl2:

Drove 5 hours to get my car this weekend. I was extremely nervous but the guy said he was going to take care of me. When I got there car was washed, paper work was ready and left within an hour.

I wasn't even looking to buy a Z originally. I was looking for Evos/WRXs and my buddy said he'd help me look for something. A day later he sends me a pic of the Z and I fell in love. It was mine within two weeks

My story: Last year I was in the final stages of fully restoring/building a 1995 Mustang that had been my only car since I turned 16 back in 2000. I had a full Eibach suspension, Flowmaster 44s, custom paint, rims, Steeda shifter, etc. In my basement was a Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears, Steeda diff housing, J&M tube control arms, and braided lines. On a stand was a 302 newly bored 0.030 over and ready for SCAT forged 331 stroker internals and a Trick Flow kit that included heads, intake manifolds, cam, and timing set. My goal was 400 naturally aspirated RWHP.

Then winter happened and coming home from work one day turned into an icy, slippery, steel signpost disaster. Somehow I escaped uninjured, but my beloved Mustang was annihilated.

To start I had my heart set on a 2011+ Coyote 5.0. After driving a Scion FR-S (gutless) and Camaro SS (overweight, ugly and poor handling) I went to Hagerstown Nissan to drive a 370 and see what all the fuss was about. Only problem was, they didn't have one. Pathetic! So after finding a gunmetal gray 6MT 5.0 at a Chevrolet lot of all places, I was ready to pull the trigger until my wife said "let's look at Mustangs at the Ford dealership first." Ironically enough they didn't have anything I wanted (gunmetal gray or black, 6MT, leather, 3.73, Brembo) but there was a black 2009 370 NISMO that was a trade-in. I asked to drive it, and the rest is history.;)

I was shopping my Frontier around to some Mitsu dealerships looking to get an EVO X, and with the market for them the way it is, they wouldn't budge on price or their shitty trade offers.

I moved on to try and snag a leftover 13' F150 Ecoboost, but they were also wayyyy more than I wanted to pay. So I said F*** it, I'll keep the Fronty, and took it in for service at my local stealership (dealer A). While I was waiting for my truck to finish I ended up talking with the guy I bought my truck from about a midnight blue 370 on the lot. He ended up "persuading:rolleyes:" me to take it for a spin with him since he was bored. I loved it and got serious and asked a price. It was what I wanted the EVO for, and a hair less even. But after just deciding to keep my truck, I said no.

Fast forward a couple of weeks at the other Nissan dealer across town (Dealer B) and I see a Gun Metallic Base 6mt sitting on the lot. I proceeded to ask them about their price. I ended up getting a quote and trade offer from deealer B, and took it back to Dealer A. I ended up doing this at each dealership 2 or 3 times, each time getting them to beat each other and make more money on my truck offer. I ended up buying after Dealer A sent me a text with their rock bottom offer (while I was sitting at dealer B). I showed the the salesman, and he sighed, and said I'll see what I can do. I ended up signing shortly after, and ended up around 26.5 +TTL for my base 14'. The funny thing is the same person owns both dealerships, but because they wanted to make a buck, they fought for my business.

TL;DR: EVOs and F150s are 'spenive, dealers fight for my business, I win.

Sorry about the 'Stang, but it sounds like you've moved on nicely lol.

Dealership stories - How'd you get the car?

I tried digging around for a post on this but most are not updated and back from 2010-2012. I'm still a bit new here and never posted intro so this is my story. Fail or Win, you decide.
While no car, I had to borrow my girlfriend's rsx to drive to work.

My parents wanted to buy me a 370z and so I've been looking around California San Jose area for one. I wanted Magnetic Black. I'm more of a night person, and nothing beats a Magnetic Black 370z at night, especially on a rainy day (orgasm).

My mom flew over from kansas (School in Cali, don't live with parents) to take me car shopping. We had the idea of 2014 Base 7AT. (My friends who let me drift their honda civic stick says im gifted at driving stick since i just flew by first time driving after watching some instruction videos. Thing is, I can't bare living next couple years in traffic with a stick. God bless 7AT.) @ $29000. Capitol Nissan started it off at 32,000 and told us the lowest they could do was 31,000 which they would have to order since they didn't have black. They kept trying to sell me a 2012 touring model for $34000.

I got convinced and my mom and I decided we can do $32000 for the touring but the dealer wouldn't budge. (Probably still sitting in parking lot rotting.)

We left. Went to stevens creek dealer. They said they can do $29,800. We got excited. Back and forth between the two I let them auction for my buy. I told them other dealer is offering 29,500. Ended with Capitol Nissan standing at 29,200. Steven Creek at $29,000. I tried to get Capitol at $29,000 but they wouldn't and in addition insulted me for calling me lowball ect also mentioned if I can get the 370z for 29k, he'll personally sell me the gtr which he was pointing at, for 40k.

Fast forward. I went to stevens to get the $29,000 deal. Turns out the guy who made a deal with me for 29000 "Is on vacation now" and called off the deal.

I was left with no car, no deal for couple months.

Fast forward again couple months. July now, couple days till my birthday.
Was a work, got a phonecall from my dad and told me to take the remaining day off and go home to receive a package.

I came home, and there it is. 2014 Magnetic Black 370z so shiny, it blinded me. I took the keys from the deliver guy, signed off paper then looked around the car... a spoiler? wtf? Called my mom I told her i wanted Base with no add ons (I didn't want additional stuff because I didn't want to pay too much. I'm happy with just a base model).

She explains she ordered and got a deal with a Kansas dealer for $29000 but they had to place an order. After the car came it turns out that the dealer made a mistake and ordered a sports model instead. My mom refused the car and they would have to pay fees to ship it back so they gave the car to my mom, a sports packaged z, for $29000.

And that is how I ended up with a sports package. :happydance:

Then couple months later, I got into a hit and run. (I have a post on this somewhere on the forums).

I had a similar experience. I was in the market for a 40th for about 2 months, looked at one in LA that was really beat up. One popped up on cars.com in AZ for a price that seemed low, car was in great shape, clean car fax, so I flew from OC to AZ bought the car and drove 5 hours home. I don't think dealerships look at 40th Anniversary's any differently than a regular 2010.

Funny my story is almost the same. Low mileage good priced 40th in Florida so I flew out and drove her 2300 miles home. Came with performance upgrades as well. Couldn't be happier and got it for thousands less than anything local
