New owner in AZ
My name is Dan and I have been into all things cars since I was a little kid. I had a 280Z back in the early 90s. I am also an old school muscle car guy. I have a 63 nova project car too. (auto cross and drag racing) My wife is a car lover too. She drives a VW GTI.
I bought my 370Z a week ago. It is my first new car I have ever bought. Heck first time I went to a dealership to get a car. My Z is a pearl white with the sport package with the AT. I wanted as basic as possible so I could put in the car what I want. (stereo system, NAV, etc) My wife's one stipulation was it had to be an automatic. But I am old so it works out. Before I bought the car I ordered most of the stereo. Alpine 927hd HU, 2 JL amps, stealthbox, 6 inch component alpine speakers, cap, etc. I have only done the head untit so far. I also have my Stillen intake and exhaust waiting to go in. (probably tomorrow) I will add the oil cooler after my first two free oil changes. I will also have the car tuned by Xactdyno in Tempe after that. There is very few cosmetics going on. I replaced the 370 badge with a fairlady badge. (I am a poser hahaha) I ordered the hood struts from Z1 and the "fog light" set up too. It is my only daily driver so I cannot got too wild. That is what the nova is for. I look forward to meeting some new folks. Maybe I run into some folks at the car shows. 370z by DanK1, on Flickr 927hd HU by DanK1, on Flickr |

Got some work in today. Installed the "fog light" and the new stillen exhaust. Taking out the oem exhaust was harder than installing the new one. Sounds great. Tomorrow we will install the intake. Then I have to return to the real work and work for 5 days. lol

Welcome. Looks like you have a great start. I'm close to Arrowhead area also (67th ave N. of 101), so you may get a glimse of the black unicorn. I only call it that, because I drive it about one or twice a week so it's a rare sighting.

I am over by westgate quite a bit. (Cabela's and Grimaldi's lol) So maybe we'll cross paths.
I live right by you pfdaxe. You ever go to the car show by Mixteca on 67th and Bell? I used to be out there with the nova all the time but it is in the middle of transformation. So it it the Z's turn. |

Ok, first off, it was way to hot to do this today. But we did. And two fat guys are out of place working on one little car. lol But we got er done.
The car is still learning the new set up. I have only driven it a couple miles. But it seems to work well. Now, if that "new exhaust" smell and smoke would go away I would be happy. lol I forgot how much I hate that! It should be easier doing the oil cooler now that we know how to remove the bumper. filters in by DanK1, on Flickr Stillen intake installed by DanK1, on Flickr I should probably just go to a build thread... |
