Signing the paper this weekend
I've been lurking the forum about 6 months now. I sold off my Altima Se-R a few weeks back and signed a purchase agreement this morning for my Z.
Picking up a 2012 Sport and Touring with Nav. Pearl white with black interior. ONLY 3200 miles. Was a 2 yr lease. Looks like the previous owner tinited the windows and put in a K&N intake. Other than that, it looks showroom new. Come on spring time. |

Sweet! The automatic transmissions are faster!

Two things I'm not 100% on - the transmission and black interior. I was looking for persimmon and manual, but read enough on the forum to give the automatic a fair chance. The only one I've driven was a manual, so we will see. I haven't read yet that the automatic is a mistake. But it does just seem natural to opt for the manual. Only downside is now the wife will think she can drive it

Yea, personal preference. Give the auto a chance then start playing with the paddle shifters in manual mode and everything will be fine. The right hand/left leg need will go away plus you can drink coffee in heavy traffic.

Does the exhaust look stock? Seems to be stick out past the bumper more than it should. Unfortunately, the car is 3 hrs away and I won't get up close and personal until this weekend.

stock exhausts are flush.. those look like aftermarket tips? just comparing it to random pics of stock exhausts.. Maybe you lucked out and got a custom exhaust on there too.. maybe ask the guy to send you a picture from under the car from the mufflers..
As far auto.. I have an automatic... and yes manuals are fun if you can get out in the open and zoom around...but you have paddle shifters... so if you feel the need to manually shift or downshift to pass/ect... slide the stick to the left and either use the shifter or paddles and have fun! I use mine as a daily driver.. so I enjoy automatic for the start/stop that I have to do on my commute... tho sometimes I do wish it was manual.. but only to rev it (with ark exhaust) to be obnoxious. edit: Are you going to go the stormtrooper look for black/white? Blacked out rims on a white Z look soo good. Get the emblems/handles blacked out too! Last edited by Malm; 03-03-2014 at 06:20 PM. |

Stormtrooper, definitely see the resemblance, I like that. I'm not a fan of black wheels, but the gun metal, like on the 40th would look good. I can see blacking out the handles, headlights, rear valance and the fangs, maybe even some vinyl on the roof.
I guess the salesman isn't too familiar with the car. I sent him an email asking if it had any modification other than the intake and tinted windows and he replied that it had no modifications, the intake was stock and I could have them tint the windows for $500. Did he even look at the pictures? Not sure what is up with the exhaust, but I think I may have lucked out. |

I think you did luck out on the exhaust. Those tips look a lot like my Berk CBE. Congrats on the Z and welcome!
