Vehicle Information Display Question
Hi, All...great to be in the company of Z owners. I have had my Z about 2 months now and just love it! It really turns heads and discourages the wannabe "fast and furious" drivers when I pull up to a traffic stop (Man, I love that!)!
My question is about the vehicle information display and the Intelligent Key system. When I approach my Z and get ready to open the door, the VID is blank. When I approach my Z, open the rear hatch, then go to the door to get in, the VID displays the "insert Intelligent Key" signal. Whan I open the door, the indication vanishes and all is normal. The battery in the Intelligent key is strong. I have looked through the manual and nothing seems to address this. I am confused...HELP!! Thanks. |

I think this is normal. I have noticed that my Z does this too. I always put my bag and cooler in the hatch before leaving for work in the morning then I walk to the door and get in. The indication goes away after I get in the car or press the lock button. I'm guessing that when you open the hatch and are standing directly behind it, the key signal is strong enough that the car could be started, and as soon as you close the hatch and/or walk away, the signal is lost or fades and the car thinks the key battery is low.

Hey, Lone Wolf 75! Thanks for your answer.
I am beginning to think it's normal, as well. Perhaps, it's just a "glitch"...technology has a way of coming up with them. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the normal operation of the car. Have you heard of this from anyone else? Thanks, again. |

Welcome from another new member!
I just got mine a week and a half ago. It's been a fun 10 days! It's cool you got a quick answer to your question. I've had the same experience. Great community here! |
