New 40th Anniversary Z
Hi everyone! Just over a week ago I traded my 2011 Honda Accord V6 coupe for a 40th Anniversary 370Z: perfect condition (I feel like I'm driving a new car), with just 16k miles on it. So, a year older than the car I had but in better condition and with less than half the mileage...you could make the argument that I had no choice. :D
While I liked the Honda I never loved it, but I already completely love my Z. Before the Honda I had a Mazda RX-8 that developed a gremlin (and broke my heart): ever since, I've been wanting another sports car. Boy did I get one! I'm looking forward to doing some minor mods in the spring (oil cooler, new brakes, etc.) so I can track her. http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...21/CarCrop.jpg (P.S. That's not me at the hood; it's the salesman.) |

Hello-
I saw in your other post that you purchased your 40th at a Audi dealer...was it at Audi Tysons Corner in Vienna, VA? |
Yep!

Funny! And yeah, I heard the same R8 story. Must be nice. ;) Frankly I was surprised the car was still there with that condition, mileage, and price...I expected the guy to tell me that someone had just bought it.

great car with Amazing potential. You are in the right place for good advice how to make your Z into a magic carpet!

My first step is putting some all-seasons on her: at first I figured I'd cross my fingers and try to get through winter with the OEM tires -- I told my boss that I'd probably need to work from home when it snows -- but after two consecutive mornings of driving on boulders I have realized the error of my ways. I've ordered a set of Goodyear Eagle F1s: they should be in on Friday/Saturday, and I'm hoping to get them installed as soon as they're delivered.
I hate discarding tires when they still have plenty of tread life (I have no garage and zero storage space, so keeping them isn't an option), but more than that I'd hate to not be able to brake in an emergency and/or cause an accident. And I'd really rather not be housebound just because of some snow. |
Congrats on the new purchase! I bought my 40th almost a year ago now, and I still get excited just to take her up the road to the store. Keep her clean and keep us posted with your mods.
