Brand new Z 20k for mods
Just purchased a brand new base 2013 370z. It is black, 6mt and sexy as hell. Got a great deal on it. I have 20k cash already set aside for mods and tuning. I don't know what I'm doing so am taking suggestions on what to put in. Should I go forced inducyion right away. Or what's the best pathway to take when doing this? I plan on stillen gen 3 intake , wheels, and tires first.

20k that's a lot of money to burn for just modifing the Z.
Go to vendors section and classified section or better yet use the search feature in the forum. That should keep you busy burning your 20k. Post some pictures of your build...Happy Modding! |
Hi

Check out this recent thread:
Click This Link It is similar to your setup only you have double the money to play with. If you pay me 2k I will send you the perfect list of items for a show stopper, track beast, or best of both worlds build. and Welcome |
Congrats!
Now do you really want help or are you just showing off your 1st world problem? Lol |
Welcome and Congrats!
I wish I had that kind of money to spend on mods when I first got my Z :icon17: But as far as mods go it depends what you want out of your car. If you want to go fast and have lots of power, don't waste your money on NA mods just go straight to FI. |
Get the FI turbo kit plus recommended mods to go with it. That will burn most of your 20k pretty quick.

Well to help.
Do not buy anything yet, if you have well you just wasted money. Since you are unsure, float around the forum and see what you like. Two main paths to take at the start, show or go. If show, then wheels, lip kit/aero kit, suspension, audio, seat will be a good start. If go then you can go straight FI, good solid kit would be GTM SC 1.5, GTM Stage 2 TT or Fast Intention TT. Great quality, simple to install and with a good quality tune will be very reliable. With go you will also have to look into cooling, oil cooler, exhaust upgrades, and transmission/braking depending on your goals. |
Don't buy the intake if you're going FI. You'll just be wasting money. If you're going FI, set your power goals and work backwards from there. Don't skimp on the supporting mods, and don't forget to account for install costs. $15-20k is about what you need for the kit+supporting mods+install+tune with a little left over for things like springs, sways, etc.
If you didn't buy the sport package for some reason, add a real diff in there too. |
Why not the Sport? Its only what 3k? Its gonna cost you more than the package was to upgrade the brakes, vlsd, (your boned on Syncrorev), and rims.
Unless your gonna put even bigger brakes, and a real lsd.... |
CV129 - Nope, not showing off. A little more about the situation. Wife passed ---> Depressed ---> Sold house ---> Allocated money for car.
Good to know I dont need the stillen gen 3. Will cancel that order. Now shopping for a cool loooking set of wheels. I like the brushed look instead of chrome. Am going to get the door handles blacked out. And some window tinting. As far as performance goes. Most threads I have read recommend going slow. But I plan on going balls to the wall right away. This car will not be my daily driver. Probably 50/50. My goals are horsepower in the 450+ range. I definitely want FI. GTM looks like they have great products. Im not sure to go with one of the SC kits or a TT kit. What does everyone think about these? Performance? Reliability? Ease of driving? Also, what sort of supporting mods do I need to aquire? |
