After years of day-dreaming about it...
1 Attachment(s)
I finally got a Z! I was actually debating between 3 different cars: the Z, Genesis Coupe, and FR-S. I drove the Z first, and loved it :) ...I drove the FR-S and was disappointed :( ...i don't know if it's because I had really high expectations for it after hearing so many people rave about it, or if it just isn't for me; but I found it to be uncomfortable and overall very poor interior at that price, especially compared to the Z for which I only paid about 3 grand more. The genesis I never got to drive. I read many reviews and the turbo model was very enticing but from what I read it seems like it still has some things that Hyundai needs to work on.
I've been wanting a 350z ever since it came out. I thought I would never be able to get one at first. Later on I kept hearing about poor interior quality, not very good throttle response, and the transmission isn't all that great either. To be fair, this is only what I heard and I do not mean to offend anyone who owns a 350. With a few mods they can be just as awesome as the 370. However, i have driven an automatic once (due to one of my previous jobs) and the automatic did in fact feel very lazy and not too precise on steering; and yes in my opinion the interior isn't very good at all. Anyway, long story short, I bought my first Z about 3 weeks ago and never looked back! :driving: I love it, and every day I can't wait to get behind the wheel. My only thing is that I'm not too crazy about the silver; I would've wanted it in either white or blue... in my opinion those are the best colors for the Z. But I got a good deal from dealer with (surprisingly) great customer service; they really treated me well, and I was very surprised. Now I can't wait to start modding! :icon17: ...my first mod might be a few cheap/free things I've read about on the DIY section (LED dome lights, trunk weight removal, etc..) ...but I honestly can't wait to save up enough to get the Stillen CBE, yum :) |
Congrats and Welcome!

:hello: Welcome & congrats on the new car. What year is it? If <mid 2011 , look for the steering lock & disable it pronto, would hate to have your new car leave you stranded. Just take a look at the steering lock sticky to see what I'm talking about ;)

Thanks for the heads-up!

Welcome to the forum and to the family. Great bunch of folks here and lots of great knowledge about how to do the mods for your car.
|
Welcome!
|
Gratz on the grab!
I agree, the FRX/BRZ was dissapointing as well. I enjoyed my k20 more ;) |
thanks everyone :)
|
Welcome and I can't believe no one had picked that username yet!
|
Welcome! It's nice to see another Z lover here :)
I see you are in Ga, so I highly recommend you to go to the Z Nationals!! PS: FR-S and BRZ are disappointing for the lack of power, but my buddy turboed his and I'm telling you, you can not floor it in 1st nor 2nd gear, it just has too much power for such a light car lol. |
Welcome!

Congrats welcome to the best car enthusiasts forum :D

Welcome. Congrats on teh new ride. I didn't get past the Z. I was going to try a couple of other cars but when I got behind the wheel I had to have it. Can anyone say Impulse Buy.

Now you'll be day dreaming about your mods. Congrats!

Congratz on the car man looks great. I was/am still in the same boat you are in, except I haven't found the right Z yet. I drove the Genesis 3.8 Track a couple of times and it is a good car, but not as good as the Z, so I think you made the right choice. The Genesis looks good, but Z looks better; drives nice, but Z drives better; turns heads, but Z turns more and so on and so forth. Just all in all it is the better choice and I think you will be happier with it.

The Z is a better car IMO all day every day :) |
Leuz and 10MPlayer,
I felt the same way; i test drove the Z first and absolutely fell in love as soon as I got behind the wheel. I did a lot of research also, and I hardly heard any complaints about it; the ones I did hear didn't seem like anything that would bother me (cabin/road noise, lack of space, etc...) ...I knew the drawbacks of a real sports car, and did not care :) dtul, I thought the same things you did when comparing the two, except I never even drove the genesis; i sat in one once and that's it. It seems unfair to not give it a chance... but i do not regret my decision at all; i am 110% happy with it :D Good luck on finding the right Z for you man! I'm sure that when you do, you will never look back and smile every time you get in it like i do :) |

As for modding just for looks, I guess I like it the way it is. I like the lowered look with the spacers on the wheels but I'm already dragging the front end every time I go in or out of the driveway or over a speed hump. I do think the roadster would look cool with a small tasteful spoiler on the trunk. |
Great Car!! Remove all the dealership logos asap...other than that enjoy her!!

Welcome
