The dream all started with the first leaked pictures and data leak on the car. Everyone (including myself) was saying that they needed to see the car in the flesh. Well seeing it in the flesh came sooner for me than a lot people in the nation. That’s because Sacramento, CA was third on the leg for the Follow the Z North America Rally. Two were being driven across nation to hi performance shops and only one Nissan dealer: Sacramento’s Nissan of Elk Grove.
The below are excerpts from several threads and posts about the dream and it being realized. Grab your favorite chair and kick back for a story. Posted on forum: G350Zdriver.com Forum - Powered by vBulletin From thread: 370 Rally at NoEg (Nissan of Elk Grove) Check out the pic (below) in the top right hand corner near the words “Follow The Nissan” ….look like a familiar pic…….yours truly. After that day, the bro fell in luv with the 370z and the plan was for me to sell my 05 Silver Stone and take over his 06 Inter Lagos Fire. The bro would get the new 370z and I would get to pick out the color because in 1-2 years I would get it and he would buy another one…..so as the excerpts continue below….. Quote:
Fast forward to picking the color: Quote:

And the 05 goes up for sale for what would turn out to be a blow out price. No bites at 17k and still no bites at 15K then the blow out price. And then the real kicker my bro said he told the dealer to order the Platinum Graphite and also the Red. So up goes for sale the 06 Inter Lagos Fire. Quote:
I sold it the next day for another blow out price of 15K. Funny thing is, both buyers live within 2 miles of me and I will see the cars at the local super markets. Phong who bought mine has already gone on a run with us and plans on more GTG’s and runs. The lady that bought the bro’s car is good behind the wheel, and the car is her. Next was keeping it a surprise for the Sac crew and ZONC members on the upcoming Contra Costa Run. John ( 06CPV35) was the only person that new at first of the Platinum Graphite 370z. Then Phong (xvtec fan), Eddie (Nismo916) and Oliver (LostCloud) all whom attended the run. We were going to pull the wool over the eyes of Jeremy (JZ33) and Alan (inqui-Z-tor ) who were going to meet up at a caravan spot but not make the run. More excerpts below. Quote:

The big surprise for the bro at Sam’s Club
Reenactment of the delivery day. Contra Costa Run 3/15/090 two days after I got mine and also the bros b-day. The bro is on the left behind the 370z. Stockton Meet 3/28/09 both cars were on the road, blowing away the Sac Crew. It started at Panera Bread in ZVille where we surprised JZ33 (Jeremy) and SexyZGirl (Luoli) along with three other G peeps. Then off to Natomas where we met up with M1r4cL3 (Adam) and SteverZ32 (Steve) then onward to ZHaven where we met up a large caravan with inqui-Z-tor (Alan), Rufio (David), Fairlady916 (Huy), Fuegostyle (Steve) and at the meet we were joined by Bill and Tiffany from Mountain View, who’s 350z’s are behind in the pic below. . |

A long intro and hopefully not to bore peeps, but as I stated at the beginning, skip the dialog and go for the pics.
A little more back ground, I have been a Z owner since 1978 being the original owner of a 1978 280Z up until 1996 when it was stolen. 9 years with a stang. I came back in 2005 with the 350Z and the bros 06 350Z. I was one of the first to get the 06 engine replaced from the oil consumption issue, spent 1.5 yrs on the oil consumption thread at my350z and was one of the few that has been successful with the new engine along with Terry Dyson of dyson analysis with the tune and used oil analysis. I am also a contributor to g350zdriver.com and started out at 350tech forum. I have been trolling threads here and already subscribed to 22 threads, so it was about time to make the intro because I have wanted to pull the trigger on several threads with questions and comments. The wait is over, I finally made some time to cut and paste the article I wrote on g350zdriver to this thread for my intro. Sorry for the long winded intro but it really was an amazing story of a great bro. Cheers Curtis ZForce and ZeeForce on the other forums. Last edited by ZForce; 08-07-2009 at 01:55 PM. Reason: typo |

First mod...well the Nismo CBE was installed before it left the show room floor.
First mod was to get the front protected. I had the 3M bra on the prior 350Z's and this time around I was educated on Venture Shield. The 3M has orange peel and the Venture Shield does not, along with being much thinner and more durable. It actually makes it pop with the look. Enjoy the pics: . |

Great Picts and cool story! I drove around a lot to different dealers as well to look at the colors. I came to the same conclusion that you did, Platinum Graphite was my personal choice. Congrats!

Thanks, the way I describe the two favorite colors PG and Red to friends is that the Red is hawt and the Platinum Graphite is Classic!
Congrats to you on a great color choice...PG FTW. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read the "Dream Realized" it was amazing and not many people in this world would do this for their brother. I needed to share it with others. I am two for two now....the 05 350Z Silverstone in the story was also given to me by the bro and at the time it was also completely paid off. |
