Finally. Home. First time driving manual and i had to drive 2 and a half hours home highway was a breeze but still i Had the most worst time, uphill in bumper to bumper traffic, stalled 30 times, caused even more traffic, But im home. Safe and sound. I was so frustrated i had to get out of my car scream my *** off get back in the car and stall another 10 times. Freakin z the clutch catches like an inch away from having my foot off. freakin z i love you and hate you right now

yeah its like they thought really short people would be driving them , i lowered my clutch engagement point a long time ago much better now and then theres the fact that there is a helper spring to make it easier to push the pedal but it makes it harder to feel where exactly it releases .

Go ahead and pull out the helper spring. You'll feel a lot more through the clutch, and that makes it easier to be smooth.

Congrats on the new Z
OMG, new guy to manual trans Test drove 3 other new cars before deciding on the Z and the engagement points were very similar on all. So high engagement point is not the issue as I've never had a problem with stalling my 13Z, even the up hill starts are easier than some of the other sticks I've owned. It just takes practice. Clutch helper spring and RJM Clutch pedal will give a different feel but you still have to learn how much to coordinate the releasing of the clutch with the pressing of the gas pedal. However, easy for me to say as I've been driving sticks since I was 16 and I'm now 55 |

In a couple of weeks of daily driving a manual, it'll become second nature.

You didn't do any damage. Don't stress yourself out about it. Just concentrate on being smooth. Follow the manufacturer's recommended break in procedure and don't go beating on the car for a while.

Read the manual. You just paid over $30,000 of your money for a car. Read the damn book. Cover to cover.

Hang in there. You get the feel eventually. I've been driving manuals for almost 30 years (!@#$ I'm old) and the 370 was a challenge at first for me. It took me a good 10 minutes to get the feel of it.
