I reread my post and yeah it sounded like I was thinking they were. They are not, and try as you want to get them the exact same they will eventually wander off one another, which if you are like me will drive you crazy.

I'm in the Lower Mount Royal area. There are 2-3 other owners who either live in or visit the area frequently. We suffer less from the wind and snow, and more from the sand, stones and/or slush that the roads in the area are loaded with from November to May. My Z stays inside during that time. Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Z side.
Yeah that drove me nuts as well, so I just ended up disabling the clock on the NAV. Btw, the clock gauge seems to have been put there just to be replaced by a turbo gauge...

What happens when you turn off traction control
So, I'm a newb, getting to know the limits of my car. Showing off. Being a jerk.
My daughter and I were driving back from school. So I thought I'd impress her (I am am admittedly irresponsible father and will never post my real name because I don't want to visited by child protective services). I turned off traction control, and turned (fast) onto a long on-ramp, then hit it in 2nd. I was more than a little surprised at how fast oversteer kicked in and how much oversteeer there was. As the car turned fully sideways and as my daughter was looking straight down the road by looking out her side window (and maybe screaming just a bit) I thought, "my daughter might get hurt and my wife is going to leave me and I MIGHT DAMAGE MY 370!!". Needless to say, I got off the throttle, but too quickly. The back end snapped around hard and started a reverse slide. But, for only a split second. Then, I felt the hands of an angel take hold, and somehow speed was quickly reduced and the back and forth sliding just stopped - fast. Peacefully - gently. So, this long preface leads to my question: Even with traction control off - it isn't ever REALLY off is it? There is an idiot emergency traction control isn't there? Something saved me from a bad situation the other day. I suspect it was computerized. Thoughts? |

VDC is your friend.... leave it on! The reaction your car had was probably more just coming back under control with the gas off than anything. The remnants of VDC after turning it off are more to do with wheel slippage under throttle.

Stillen exhaust
Quick newbie question.
I'm going to get the Stillen exhaust. I think that will be my only mod (well, maybe K&N filters). Do I need to do a tune after installing new exhaust? Or will the car's computer figure it out? Thanks all! |

I would look at other CBE for the money, but you should be fine with out a tune, but if you want a tune you should gain a few more hp, it's just up to you if the 6-10 ish is worth the money for it. Depending on how soon you are planing a CBE i've got a Magnaflow on its way in for my car, your welcome to have a listen once it's on, and it shouldn't be more then a G w tax for it...

Any particular reason you're going with the Stillen CBE? I also expect to go this route only because my understanding is that it is "relatively" quiet (... much like stock) unless you open it up.
