New Z owner in Toronto
Hey folks,
I'm a proud new owner of a 2009 370Z Touring 6MT. I already have a 1971 240Z that I've been restoring for a few years now. I never liked the looks of the 350Z and when the 370Z came out I thought they got it perfect (almost as good as the 240Z ) I've been looking for one for awhile and this one came along with 54k kms, touring package, tinted windows and an aftermarket exhaust - which is an Amuse Titan $$. It has a nice sound, not too aggressive. So far I love this car, heres a few pics as I was washing and waxing her for the first time. |

Hey thanks for the welcome everyone, I've found a bunch of helpful threads here already. Anyone up north in Ontario check out my Z-Car site, Ontario Z-Car Owners Association and if anyone here is a member there drop me a line and maybe I'll see you at one of the meets now that I have a running Z again!

No wasn't me.. I worked early all week. I've been on the 401 at 630am and then back to the 400 at around 330pm. I guess my exhaust is the biggest giveaway with the blue tips. I havn't heard of another Amuse Titan exhaust locally.

I really got everything at PartSource (they have the same stuff at Canadian Tire). It's more the process than the product I think. I got Mcguiers claybar, Autoglym polish, and Mcguiers NXT tech wax. Everything was on sale. I would have got the autoglym wax but they were out. First I did a light claybar on the car to remove oxidized paint and artifacts. Not too aggressive as it's my first time on this car and better to go very light then mar the paint. Then I applied the polish, let it dry then buff off. Then Waxed and buffed. It turned out pretty good and now I know the limits of these products. I think this particular wax would be better used on this black paint with a rotary applicator/buffer as it did leave very slight uneven marks after I did it by hand. It may be because I didnt let it dry properly... I'm used to a carnauba wax. Heres a few close ups. EDIT: I should also say that the whole process was done inside with the paint cool to touch and it took me 5 hours. I did rush it a bit, I should have waited a little longer for the wax to dry. Next time I'll know. Last edited by zak's z; 05-01-2013 at 08:04 AM. |
