so i was gonna wait until june to get a Z, just to have my finances where i wanted them, but a trip to the dealership for an appraisal turned out to be more than i bargained for.

i dont know if this is how they do it in other states, but here in Louisiana, they put your car online and wait for bids. this takes a while, so i had time to troll around and talk to some potential car buyers. there was a mother and daughter team eye-balling a slightly used altima, loaded, which in my opinion was way overpriced (arent they always). they were waiting on the dad to arrive before "talking turkey". so we get into a conversation, and as it turns out, they live in the same little town as i do.

i told the mom what i was buying and trading, she and the daughter looked at each other and she asked how much for my car if i would sell it instead of trade. see where this is going? lol

long story short, everything turned out better than expected. ended up getting about 2500$ more than what the salesman said the bids were online, and he also found the exact car i was looking for! i am STOKED!

they gave me a brand new loaner, and my brand new 2012 gunmetal grey Z should be here mid week! i told one salesman i was gonna miss my maxima.
he said, "no you wont":happydance:

congrats kid. i shared a similar experienced two days ago. i was told my car (altima coupe 08 36K miles) wouldn't worth more than $7k. i wanted a Z really bad. i took it to a dealer after seeing the lease deal for $329 a month. they offered me $13K for my car, all i said was "WHERE DO I SIGN?" they had my manual 6 speed pearl white based model with sport package in. i literally walked in with an altima coupe and walked out with a 2012 Z. happiest day. been driving non stop ever since (really) lol
