Those look good! I'm investing in performance mods first :D Trying to look as sleeper as possible...for a bright red Z...LOL

I want to get tints, are there any issues with tints considering that the windows push up every time you close the door? Also since there is a black interior what would I be able to get away with without getting into trouble? 35% all around? My last car had a beige interior so even with 20% I wouldn't have had a problem.

My heart is set on Stillen Gen 3 intakes and Stillen exhaust with Berk HFC. :)

I don't know about "getting away with it". That depends on the cops in your area.

I've not heard any issues with the tints stemming from the auto-up in the long term. But the shop told me to let it sit for a few days. It helped that I got it done in the middle of summer, since the heat helped it dry faster.

I can't exactly let the car sit for that many days since its my daily driver. I'm scared of the Auto-Up destroying the tint in the first days :(

Then I'd try to get it done on a very hot, dry day. Then it should settle in a matter of hours while you sit in cool, cool AC. :tup:

Hmmm a sleeper red car. Good luck with that. As for the tint be carefull with going too dark. Hate to pay for it then have to take it off. NY does not play when it comes to tint. Take it to a good shop and they should know the limits. Performance is the way to go. Lowering and spacers are agood place to start.:happydance:

Yeah, think I will go 35% all around, with a 35% lip on front windshield.

Maybe if I put pillows in my car it'll be a sleeper status look? :D or hubcaps...hmmm...

NY police don't really care all that much about tinted windows unless they really need a reason to pull you over. 20% is pretty dark considering the cabin is pretty dark to begin with. I DD my Z and I don't think it really needs tinted windows to be honest with you. Seeing out of it is hard enough with all the blind spots.

Also, how come you still have the old style plates and not the gold? Where in NY are you?

They are my old custom plates that I transferred to this car, I hate the new plates...the colors are hideous. Unfortunately I am going to be forced to get them as soon as I order new custom plates. I'm in Westchester but I drive to Long Island, NYC, and Rockland all the time. I stumbled across the Northeast section, once my car is broken in I'll have to stop by for a meet.

Thats crazy, I bought my current DD in Syracuse and drove it home and the first thing I did was put 5% limo all the way around. Granted, im in Florida but I go to NY every year *Rochester* and have never been messed with. I feel sorry for you guys, my mom is always panic'in when shes driving while shes on the phone for fear she will get pulled over. DOwn here, the cops are on the cell phones nonstop while driving but we have no rule against it.

I think 20% is good enough if you dont wana get messed with, I just like it dark because I dont like snooping ppl while im driving or when the cars just sitting there during the day/night. :shakes head:

THe tint laws are due to cops being shot when approaching vehicles with dark tint. I'm amazed the Florida doesn't have the same problem with cities like Miami that downtown has more guns than the wild west did. I worked as a disaster relief worker for Katrina and had an armed escort anytime I was outside in downtown Miami. I don't follow Miami news but just in Buffalo there is atleast 1-2 drive by's per week. Do I think that the Z owner would be a shooter NOPE but they could get theirs stolen and used in one. Tint laws make sense for law enforcement.

Well I am the farthest you could be from Miami and still exist in the state of Florida. haha Im about 700 something miles away from there. Ive been down there many times in the past with my gf when she was doing her med school clinicals there but was never harassed. I guess it depends if your in a rough area or not and look like trouble. Next summer were looking to move down to central/South fl but I dont plan to be in ghetto areas;) :p

Not sure if you have done the tint yet, but what you can do to disable the auto windows is just disconnect the battery, foot on the brake about 30 seconds and all the power is drained, this also reset the ecu. Hook the battery back up, set the clock/radio presets and you're back to normal except now the auto up/down windows won't work. Now once your tint is good and dry, here's how to reset the windows.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Close the door.

3. Open the window completely by operating
the power window switch.

4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.

5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by the automatic function to
confirm the initialization is complete.

6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
window.
