Default New 2011 black 370Z

After 3 1/2 months of waiting, my order arrives.

For some unknown reason, I just had a really strong feeling that it would arrive this week, Friday. So I made all the necessary arrangements a day before I got the call that it arrived. Talk about a strong connection to something.

I just picked up my 2011 black 370Z (7AT w/sports package) today, but the weather was not cooperating.
It rained and snowed during my 80 mile drive.
It looks like the weather won't get any better for awhile.
2 inches of snow tonight, in mid April.

The car is quite fun to drive, especially around corners.
The sales guy let me test drive it before I signed the papers. The Z had 6 miles on it before I put the rest on there, but I wasn't able to photograph the odometer before driving off.

I was able to garage the Z tonight and wipe the water off it. Only one photo taken as there wasn't enough room to take more photos in the small garage.
When the weather gets better I'll get some more, dynamic photos taken.

Thanks for looking, and now it's time to party.

Thanks MyZ4U2C!

Xan, good info. Should I pay for the dealership to put their wax coating on for me or should I just do it myself?

Thanks cfweber, I am itching for some sunny weather alright.
Here's what it looks like outside:

Definitely do it yourself, check out the detailers section for some great tips and forum sponsors to get some great products. Don't waste time, money and aggravation on any OTC stuff, unless you can find a Walmart selling of some of it's Autoglym stuff on clearance.

Also as the paint is real soft, see if you have any swirls and possibly get some polish to get them out. You could consider a clear bra if you hate to get any rock chips and Opti-coat if you're not a fan of too much maintenance and want to keep her protected.

Thanks again Xan. I'll read the detailers section. So Walmart is a good place to get some quality products?
I've spotted some swirls, so I'll need polish. And I guess a clear bra will be in the near future too.

Not really, but they sold some Autoglym for a while and were putting it on clearance. That's the only thing worth getting there. Look at our forum sponsors for other product that are worth buying.

Don't wait too long if you're planning the bra.

Welcome, and excellent choice of color

I would definitely consider Opti-Coat if I had purchased new and didn't have a car full of swirls.

A little elbow grease and the right tools can easily take care of that...

I draw the line at power tools on my paint - if I knew a good detailer around here, I'd get it done.

As long as you don't use a rotary the learning curve isn't that steep...
Results are very satifying though...

Hi wilsonp, thanks! Black is awesome, heheh.

Powertools? Is that safe to use on the Z though? I am thinking of just going hands on for the entire process. I'd like to enjoy this process. I think I will enjoy it, LOL!
