New (to me) 370 owner

Tonight I made the jump from my 03 350 to a 09 370Z

This particular car was formerly a members on here and is just beautiful.

Red Touring with Sport 6mt

God its late and starting to get nasty weather outside so I am sitting here typing feeling like a kid at christmas who can open their presents.

I have been on this forum for the last two days soaking up as much as I can. I havent done much at work:tup:

Planning to do a little intake/exhaust mod. any opinions on the Fast Intentions exhaust would be welcomed especially what resonator size to go with.

Later all
Andrew

Congrats! Welcome to the forum. Post a few pics when you get a chance!

haggomyeggo 03-10-2011 12:03 AM

As soon as I give her a good wash and wax on saturday morning. Supposed to be mid to high 50's. I just love the red. So much better than my dark silver 350z. and in many more ways than just paint color! I was trying to sell my NISMO 350 floor mats on the 350 website and its amazing how many 350 owners hate on the 370. They apparently have not driven a 370

when I first got mine I kept opening the garage door and peering out at it

I guess it's a bit of a shock to the system at first

haggomyeggo 03-11-2011 09:27 AM

i park where I can see it from a window at work and I get a huge smile everytime i walk by and see it.

haggomyeggo 03-11-2011 12:07 PM

i need a dang 9v battery so i can sync up my homelink system. i havent used a garage door opener in so long!

nice! Post pics!

haggomyeggo 03-15-2011 09:14 AM

ok i did clean up the car. gave it a nice wash and wax. I wanted to take better pics with a camera and not just my phone so i was going to wait till i could borrow a digital camera from my parents but then because the weather in the St. Louis area is dumb it has practically snowed so i will get pics up as soon as possible.

Loving every minute of driving though

haggomyeggo 03-16-2011 03:47 PM

well after snow on monday its now like 60 outside and i could not wait any longer so here are a few pics taken with the iphone 4.

enjoy, i sure do. Now if i can just get all the sploches that m4a1 left all over the hood. This weekend is going to include some power buffing......

Overall though I love the car. Best car I have ever bought. Now to mod.....

FuszNissan 03-16-2011 03:51 PM

Fast Intentions is a great exhaust. Awesome sound and performance. Quality of the welds are some of the best I have ever seen.

That almost brings a tear to my eye.

But you make it sound like I use the hood of my car as my naughy tissue or something. :rofl2:

haggomyeggo 03-16-2011 04:04 PM

Im pretty sure I am going to go with Fast Intentions 18" and Stillen G3 intake and I hope that will cure my mod needs as far as performance goes.....
i plan to leave the stock cats so 18" right?

I cant decide which to do first.

I also want a HD GoPro for using with the car and on my boat when we wakeboard.

ah decisions decisions.

18" is good. That's what I had on the car.

I would get the exhaust first then decide if you want to do the intakes. There's no real seat of the pants gain with the intakes... but you can feel a little extra kick with the exhaust.

The GoPro is awesome. I love mine.

GoPro is epically useful and fun.

I have the HD GoPro and hate it...... The sound sucks. They really need an external mic.

haggomyeggo 03-16-2011 04:24 PM

i was wondering about the mic. is there a way to plug in an external mic? Not that i would worry about it while wakeboarding but to the hear the exhaust on the car would be nice

m4a1s videos from the Dragon sounded pretty good i thought

FuszNissan 03-16-2011 04:32 PM

Maybe it's where I was placing mine. But I believe there is no external mic

haggomyeggo 03-16-2011 04:42 PM

I found a place selling them new on ebay (the motorsports edition) and a 32GB card for 309.00

think i can do any better somewhere else??

SophiaZ 03-16-2011 04:48 PM

Have you thought about getting the HFCs along with the F.I. exhaust? It's a great combo IMO..I have no complaints about either

Hit up Ryan at Forged...that's where I got mine. He was offering a pretty good deal. I can't remember what I paid.

my only hangup with HFCs is that my buddy had them on his v6 tiburon (i know its not the same but hold on) and I hated how loud they made the car with his exhaust and how the car smelled if you were sitting at a light for too long.

If both of these things were gone i suppose i would take a closer look but I would definitely want to hear a FI exhaust with HFCs in person first.

And if I wanted to keep HFCs on the table would that change my 18" plan to 12" instead??

I talked to the guys at FI and he said he was about 6-9 weeks out right now so I know I could have a bit of time to save if I ordered it now......so tempting but I would like to have the money ready in case something comes up

I will shoot ryan a message and find out Lou....thanks

No. HFCs will make things louder. The 18" resonators are the quieter option, so if you did HFCs you'd want to stick with the 18.

I felt like the 18 alone was plenty loud enough, though. Didn't want the HFCs at all.

Push370zzz 03-16-2011 06:28 PM

nice...they look so good in red!!

SophiaZ 03-17-2011 12:14 AM

I agree. I have the 12" with hfcs and I think its great for my loudness likes, but there is drone inside the cabin. The 18"s with hfcs might be more to your liking. Need someone with this setup to chime in.
As far as the smells, I only smell it when I get on it from being stopped but it only lasts a second. And it comes with that "hissing" sound but it gives the car personalitly lol

m4a1mustang 03-17-2011 06:54 AM

There is some drone with the 18" as well. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the HFCs because of the hiss and extra rasp. I felt like the 18" catback had a really nice tuned sound. Plenty loud enough IMO but not so loud that it'll get you into trouble.

Thank you

Its lovely in Illinois:tup:

m4a1mustang 03-17-2011 10:49 AM

I've got fam out in IL, and I agree, very nice place to park the Z. :)

haggomyeggo 03-17-2011 11:01 AM

I tried to get my Saint Bernard to sit by the car while taking the pics but you really cant tell a 120lb dog what to do or at the least get him to sit long enough for a picture

when he was a pup I used to put him in the hatch back of my old 350. that didnt last long

FuszNissan 03-17-2011 02:10 PM

If you don't mind the sound and a little drone at low rpm's(HFC's + 18" Carbon Fiber Exhaust) is where it's at. Sounds so exotic.

haggomyeggo 03-17-2011 02:14 PM

See I would like something that I can hear the exhaust from inside the car under accel.

My 350 stock you could really hear that burble and exhause sound
i feel with the 370 I hear more engine. Dont get me wrong its still a good noise but its not that sexy exotic exhaust sound. I want more of that

with this new tire i just bought I might take a bit longer to get this exhaust project going.

m4a1mustang 03-17-2011 02:29 PM

You can more than hear the exhaust from inside the car even with just the 18" cat back. It's pretty loud.

haggomyeggo 03-17-2011 02:39 PM

this is the exoticness in terms of sound I would look for. Maybe a bit extreme but still like he says

"thats a proper noise"
skip to around 50 secs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG9BOrj2YYk

but I still want it quiet when you want so this is a bit over the top i know

m4a1mustang 03-17-2011 02:41 PM

Unfortunately you can't really get the VQ37 to sound like that, but I think you'd be pretty happy with FI exhaust with or without HFCs.
