first z car!!
So, I bought my first Z car yesterday. It is a 2010 aluminum coupe with sport package 6mt. Picked it up used for 27,900.00 It has 5250 miles on it.
I love this car so far (lol... one day) I am just looking closely at it to make sure it is in good shape being used and all. I usually by new but felt this was a good deal. I have only noticed one weird thing about the car. So, i am wondering if everyones Z does the same thing or what??? So here is the scenerio--- In neutral, rev the engine up and let it decelerate. Everytime around 1500rpm or so the engine seems to hesitate or something. It seems weird. I mean as the rpms come down the engine feels very smooth. But, as rpms come down there is always a flutter or hesitation or something around 1500-1800 rpmish??? Has anybody had this? Does everybody have this? IS THIS NORMAL? I still have five days to return the car if I decide I don't want it for any reason. So thanks everyone. First post. |
anycodes !!!
did u get it checked properly before buying it !!! do you have the service history of the car !!! Good luck and welcome on board. |
Congratulations!
That's a bid odd. I don't recall my 6mt doing that. I would definitely have it checked out asap. |
Welcome aboard also. Good thing for warranties.

No, no codes. A nissan dealer looked at the car today and said the car is in good shape. How much did they really look at the car?? I don't know. I bought it from a Carmax dealer whatever that means... No real records of maintenance. Clean carfax.
I do love this car! It seems to be in good shape as far as I can tell. Maybe all Z cars do this on rpm deceleration in neutral?? Like I said, rpms drop until 1500, then hesitates, then drops to actual idle at 800 or so. Normal?? Everything else seems normal. Gotta love the Z!! Um, its a sports car, not a cadillac! |
Congrats and welcome. Just mod the hell out of the car to fix that nuisance.

welcome to your new obsession...could be bad gas...if not take it back to the dealer have them take a look

Had a nissan mechanic sit in the car with me today. He said it is normal. The car catches there before dropping to full idle. Better that way i guess? So, COOL. Thanks for the concerns!
You say mod it?? Ha HA LOL... Never... yeah right. I am sure i will. I had an 06 wrx as an obsession before. mods mods mods. Its an addiction. Nice forum. |
:welcome: and congrats man!
