Im inclined to agree, myself. I definitely believe in an early oil change around 1K miles. But I think babying it up to 1200 is excessive. 400-500 miles IMHO is plenty, especially with multiple heat cycles...

I tried so hard to be a good boy...I've 2400 miles on it now and I live in west texas or as i like to call it MOPAR Country, CHEVYLAND, FORD Village whatever, so I got tempted to hit the speed limit on the high as fast as I could but I haven't driven the car over about 70 mph yet "i-20" day speed limit. But I love her

Speaking of crashing: When I picked up car at the dealer, I had to make a left turn onto a busy 4 lane road, gunned it and almost smacked into a raised median barrier.

But its easy for me to follow the break-in guidelines: Even under 4000 RPM, it blows away my Celica GTS(2000). That was a great car with a CAI and exhaust but there's only so much you can get out of a non-turbo 1.8 liter. It was depressing watching it fall so rapidly down the food chain with the advent of WRX's, Evos, Turbo Neon's, Camry's, Altima's, etc. Not that I got into races with those; I didn't dare.

It says 278 miles. I was real easy with here. I took nearly 3 miles to get to that speed. Nothing for this car. And see, no where need that redline thingy to the right.

I made it 3 or 4 hundred miles but I think the ECU needs to know what to expect.
