Concerned new owner
This is my first convertible so i'm very curious on how to maintain the soft top when taking the car for a wash. Is it safe to take it to a drive thru car wash. i know there are products out there to maintain the threading on the top. How soon is too soon to start using these products. I've had the car for a week and feel like it needs to be washed.

never ev er never take you car through a auto car wash. this goes fro hard tops to they are hell on your paint and i can only imagine what they will do to the soft top. Wash your car at home my friend. As for what are good cleaning products for the roof i'll let others chime in on that.

I don't have a roadster, never even seen one in real life.
I was going with fabric as I believe that was on the 350's and I wouldn't think they change that. That's why I asked about the glue... Maybe someone else who has a roadster can chime in on what the material is.

Try Ragg Top. Used it on previous S2000 with great results: www.wolfsteins.com/products

My Z is a coupe but my other car is a cab.
1. Hose down the top. The fabric collects dust. 2. After the hose down, use a sponge and wash the top as if it were the hood. 3. Hose down again. 4. Wash the remainder if the car. 5. Use a large towel to dry the ragtop. And the most important of them all, 6. Let the top fully dry before putting it down. minor info 7. When not in use, put the top up. 6 and 7 help maintain the shape and prevent the creases. Btw, you can use top protector to bead water and Fight UV. However my top still looks brand new 10 yes later without using the product. Cheers |
