I'll be leaving to the dealer here in about 45 minutes to pick up my car. I hope all goes well and I drive back home with my new 370Z.

Today is the day! Black Cherry 2010 6MT Fully Loaded
I'll be leaving to the dealer here in about 45 minutes to pick up my car. I hope all goes well and I drive back home with my new 370Z. I'm trading in my 5AT 350Z which I had modded considerably (full bolt-ons, ECU tune, suspension, wheels, etc.). It was a nice and quick ride, but I always felt it could use more in numerous areas like high-end pull (5-speed gearing hurt acceleration past 105MPH), and consistent/flat torque, two things that I think would've hurt the car if it saw a full track. Even with my mods, the 370Z still feels much quicker, and that's what shocked me the most.
Then there were aesthetic qualities, such as the interior, that really started to nerve me. The 370Z's interior, especially when fully loaded, is so beautiful that I just knew it was time to let the 350Z go. I just couldn't tolerate the cheapness of the 350Z anymore. Anyways, wish me luck. The day is today and it feels almost too good to be true. Hopefully my next post will include pics! |

This is my first stick car and it's a challenge, but I'm really trying to get a hang of this. I complained about the clutch in the 350Z, but refinement and smoothness have made the 370Z's clutch lack feel and feedback. It catches high and it's going to require muscle memory to remember where exactly it grabs. I'm not ashamed to say this, but I was practicing starting and stopping in a parking lot, and I stalled the car a little more than 10 times in the span of 45 minutes. Towards those last 15-20 minutes, I got progressively better, to the point where I'd do close to 20 starts without a stall...and when I did finally stall, it was thanks to an itch. But I'm determined to be perfect at this, because like someone said, I'm in love. I'm a huge gearhead, and while I loved my 350Z, the 5AT wasn't cutting it for me, as far as fun factor...and the interior's cheapness really grew thin. The car is pretty filthy right now. I'm going to clean it up tomorrow and post some pics. Last edited by AlphaSnacks; 11-28-2010 at 01:14 AM. |
