Default Finally, I'm a proud Z owner! (Pics included)

Hey everybody! I have never registered with a forum before, so this is all new to me. I have been a Z lover since I was a kid and always dreamed of owning one, especially since the 350's were introduced in the early 2000's. I even test drove a used one a couple of years ago, but thought I'd wait until I finished grad school to buy one new. Well, it was definately worth the wait because when I graduated in 2009, the 370's were rolling out and they brought my yellow color back! I searched dealers' inventories from the Nissan website and found exactly what I wanted - a yellow manual transmission (of course, with the sport package). I took a day of vacation and my wife and I drove a little over 100 miles to go pick her up! The Z has far exceeded all of my expectations and it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. I still walk out to the garage every now and then just to gaze at it.

I have surfed this forum since before buying the car, but never got around to actually joining until now. I would first, like to thank the administrator for his helpful threads on the snow tires and ramps for oil changes. Last winter I found out why they are called summer tires. Well, I got me some Blizzaks so I'm all good now.

As far as mods go, the only thing I have planned at this time is a cat back exhaust. I keep drooling over your cat back exhaust videos on here, so I'm getting ready to scrape some cash together. I must have read a million of your threads, and it sounds like this is a great community and a great resource for Z owners, so thanks to you all. I took some pictures at a park recently of my Z and my 1985 Celica GTS convertible. I'll try and attach some pics for you.

Thanks!

-Charlie

Thanks! It's a nice dark canary yellow much like the yellow on the 350's of 2005 and back or the new C6 vettes. If it was a fugly pale yellow, I'd have gone red! It must not have gone over well, though, because it looks like it is gone for 2010.

Nice. Love the yellow.

Is that Celica an '84 or '85?
I had an '83 coupe with the same wheels. Mine was called a GT, but it was the same as the GTS of '84. The first of 3 Celicas for me. Had the coolest gadgets in the stereo of any car I ever had. If you had a radio program that you listened to everyday, you could program it and the radio would either switch stations or turn the radio on.

< easily entertained.

It is indeed an '85. This was the first year for the convertible. My dad bought it new back in '85 and handed it down to me as a move in gift when I bought my first house. He did a great job keeping it in near mint condition. Everything is original and it has just over 58,000 miles. My only complaint is that it is SLOW.....but speed is what I got the Z for.

Yeah the canary yellow for the 2009 Z was a one year run, as the black cherry for the 2010 is also a one year run i do believe.

Yep. They have a one year paint that they allow us to pay an extra $500 for the privilege of having it.

Hi fellow yellow Nice colour

The 350Z was a pearlescent yellow but I think our flat yellow is so bright it works by itself

BTW, in the UK it's called 'Ultimate Yellow' and the 350Z is called 'Ultra Yellow' - so ours is undeniably better
