My 1st car was an '89 I-ROC Z28, but my father took a lot of time to teach me to drive out at the airport when I was 14 and I was the only person who drove anyone in the family anywhere when I was 15-16. Moved on from the Z28 to a RX7, Mustang GT, WS6 Trans Am, Mr2, etc by the time I was 18

Take the time to learn to drive, and you will be fine... and CONGRATS!!

My first car was a 1976 Dodge Aspen Station Wagon. I took it to Prom. I lost my flower in it.

I can't imagine what parents are thinking when they give their kids relatively high- powered sportscars as their first car...must be nice.

Maybe the OP is more responsible that the typical 17-year old -- I sure hope so. I've just seen so many teenagers crash as a result of irresponsible driving. This sounds to me like a recipe for disaster on so many levels.

To the OP...congrats, good luck, enjoy and appreciate your awesome car, and above all, stay safe!!
