Just let the rpm drop and shift a bit slower. You're probably pushing it in to hard...

Are you maybe letting the clutch up a little to early?

Nobody in your surroundings that can drive a manual?

For what it's worth, this is a clunky transmission. It's not uncommon to hear/feel the clunk on a perfectly good 1-2 shift.

I meant that maybe you already lift your foot a little before you've got it fully in the next gear...

Ah ok, because riding it means that you have the clutch half way engaged (slipping) for too long...

I guess it will just take some practice. Just to be sure, did your dad drive your car without any noises?
I mean it might be a bit clunky (although mine shifts smooth, but I'm used to my 350 transmission), but you shouldn't be grinding the gears...

No you only burn the clutch if you hold the pedal anywhere between fully pressed in and released for too long.

You'll get it with practice. Just leave VDC on.

If it's a manual, use if for practice...
