Hi everyone. I bought a 370Z Touring this past Friday, 6MT, Monterrey Blue, Sport Pkg. Paid $38k and change for it, for those who want to know. My previous car was an '06 350Z Enthusiast. I didn't trade it in -- I totaled it back on election day. A guy driving a dark green minivan didn't turn his headlights on and, not being able to see him, I turned left in front of him and he hit me at 70 mph. And no, I didn't deliberately total my 350Z to justify purchasing a 370Z! Actually, it was a pretty bad experience. Had some broken bones.

Anyway, order has been restored to my universe now that I have a Z again. Below are some pics of both the old and new Zs.

First of all, welcome to the forums. The Monterey bBlue 370Z looks very nice. Sorry about the accident. Feel free to write a review on the 370Z. What you like the most and what you like the least. Also, you can put your price here (thread below) so that other buyers can get an idea what kind $$$ people are paying for their Z.

Did I see in your other post you got 1.9% financing from Nissan? How did you do that?

Yes, 1.9% How? *shrug* good credit? Not just in general, but with them in particular. This would be the 5th car I've financed with them. Never missed a payment. That probably helped.

Its interesting. I have outstanding credit, and they said 6% was the best they could do.

Have you financed with them before? If you also have good credit, then the only thing I can think of is the number of cars I've previously financed with them being a factor.

Its funny, I actually called them back, and they agreed I have very good credit. I asked them if it had anything to do with financing before and they said no. They couldn't understand how you could have gotten that.

+1 My credit score is near 800 and both my bank and Nissan were offering 5.9%, not sure how you scored that deal!

Hmm...this is strange indeed. They (the dealership) actually came to me originally with a rate of 8%, to which I just said 'no way'. Then they did their little 'let me go talk to a manager' song and dance, and came back stating that they talked to Nissan and explained to them that I'm a 'premium customer', and Nissan agreed to 1.9%. Now, I figured they were just blowing smoke up my @ss. I figured that the original 8% rate was just something they threw on the table in case they had a sucker on their hands who'd accept it no questions asked, and if rejected, then they could make up this 'premium customer' line to butter up the customer, along with offering the 'real' rate.

But if you guys got stuck with those higher rates, then I'm not sure what to think. I hate to think of this as a possibility, but could it be that I'm right about the higher rate being a smokescreen, and I just got lucky and my dealership caved when I said 'no way' whereas your dealership stood firm and held out for a higher APR? I mean, truth be told, had my dealership dug in their heels and said that 6% was the best they could do, I'd probably have gone ahead and signed anyway. Maybe I just got lucky and benefited from a lack of resolve on the dealership's part. It was a Friday night when I did my deal, after all. Maybe they just wanted to go home.

You know, it's funny you say that. The place was dead when I went in, and my sales guy was sitting at his desk. As I got closer to him, I realized that he was just sitting there, chin to chest, SLEEPING! I had a chuckle, and debated whether to be nice and wake him gently with a quiet knock on his desk, or give him a heart attack and slam my fist down on his desk instead. (I opted for the former.) So yeah, you might be onto something. They could very well be struggling. The place didn't pick up much in the course of the next couple of hours either. But I don't know what's normal for a Friday night.

I know they weren't trying to 'sucker' me into a high right, as I didn't even finance with them. In fact, I went in with 5.9% asking if they could do any better, and 6% is what came back. Who knows - good score though (screw up by that dealer, is my guess).
