Hello again. New owner and new member to the forum. Just thought I'd say hello and (even though I know you've seen it all) post a quick pic.

Congrats on your new car! Have fun breaking it in (and even more after it's ready to really romp)...

Congrats, dude! Enjoy your sweet ride!

I can't wait to get through this break in period. I'm finding myself running unnecessary errands at all hours just put more miles on her. But it sure was nice at the end of a long work day to walk up to my new ride and think - yeah, today was worth it!

where do you live about?

Good to hear.

You can read a lot of threads around here about the 1200 mile break-in period. It may change your mind or reinforce your current thought process. It helped me realize that over-babying my car during the 1200 miles might be just as bad as occassionaly pushing it a little above the 4k/5k RPM range. That's just my :twocents:, of course.

Thanks for the advice. There is sooooo much on here to go through to get caught up. LOL. But it's all good. My theory has been to "break in" a vehicle (both car and motorcycle) by driving pretty much the way you would drive on a "normal" day of commuting. I have flirted with 80mph or 6K rpm four a handful of times, but for the most part I'm shifting out or backing off around 4.5K rpm and keeping her under 60mph.

Oh, and I'm in the Los Angeles (mid wilshire-ish) area.

Don't give him any ideas. A car running at 3000-4000 rpm is not being babied! :ugh2:

:rofl2:

Update — giving the rev-sync a little test around midnight on an "almost deserted" stretch of the 10fwy the other day. I dropped into 4th and "accidentally" went from just over 55 to right around 110 mph in a matter of seconds, backed off and haven't been above 75 since. I figure "it" is out of my system (for a while anyway) and there is rarely an opportunity to go that fast on LA's crowded streets and freeways, so I'm content with the "Granny Lane" for the next 500 miles or so. But still, that little experience made me go... giggidy!
