PS: Do you know if the deal you got was at invoice, below it or above it?

It was slightly above still about $312.

Here's my Listing i found:
Touring 6 Speed $31,919 Invoice $34,460 MSRP

Sport Package (SPT) - $2602 Invoice/$3000 MSRP
HDD Nav System (NAV) $1605 Invoice/$1850 MSRP
Floor Mats (FLO) $89 Invoice/$115 MSRP
Splash Guards (SGD) $165 Invoice/$220 MSRP
Illuminated Kick Plate (IKP) $148 Invoice/$200 MSRP
Carpeted Trunk Mat (TMA) $65 Invoice/$95 MSRP

Options TOtal: $4674 Invoice/$5480 MSRP
Destination Charge $695 Invoice/MSRP

Total: $37,288 Invoice/$40,635 MSRP
$312 over invoice/ $3035 Under MSRP.

If the dealer says they are not making money they are most likely lying. IF a dealer is actually paying Invoice price they won't be in business for long. Most dealers will get 2-3k off the invoice price as well.

Think about it end of year, the model close out sales, are usually priced anywhere between 7-10k off MSRP. Why? They need to move those models and that's when they'll sell them at what they paid and I doubt it would be under.

^Oh definitely. If they're selling the car, they're making something off of it.

Thanks for the break down. I'm saving that so I can have something to refer to when it's time to shop. I'm hoping by summer, dealerships are flooded with models so it's easier to bargain with.

You live in SD, but bought from Maryland? If I read this right, you got it below invoice? Factory invoice is $35,305 and you bought it for $34,815. If so...WOW!

I wished him good luck selling the 12 leftover 350's on his lot and laughed all the way to the parking lot knowing that they're asking about 8 thousand over invoice on their sole 370.

WoW. Buyers market is the dealership's worst nightmare. Those guys are rediculous
I've been all over Carmax and haven't seen any listed yet but I'll keep my eyes open. Getting one from them doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Any chance you can take a picture of it next to your R8? I'd love to see the two in a picture together. I don't remember what color the R8 was, but I remember something about Carbon side blades.

Sorry guys. I'll cut the drama. It was in good fun. Kids will be kids and in the days of internet anonymity lying to impress others is pervasive. It looks like he may actually have a 370Z. And if he doesn't, that's fine. This kid did not make any friends from the other board because he didn't have the qualities that a lot of people consider to be required of others: honesty. He is more than welcome here, as I was, and I appreciate the willingness of this community to receive an obviously flawed person.

What also must be realized is that there are a lot of people here that spilled over from the other forums and some people are not going to be so happy to see such blatant indecency. There are people here that are very suspect of his purchase arrangements as well. I realize that this is a reason to use the ignore function, but I hate that I have to censor myself from something that should I would not to see take place anyhow, but I don't run this forum. This looks to be a fresh start for the Z community. Let's hope to avoid the problems of the previous by being respectful and honest.

You will not find any more baiting or drama from me. My apologies to the community.
