Using nissanusa.com, first "build" a Z. Then when you check dealer inventory, select a city you could fly to: Chicago, NY, Boston, Miami, etc. Then select "100 mile radius", and you can find all Z inventories at dealers in that area.

At the time I looked, there were persimmons in the 100-mile radius around Richmond, VA. Chicago had mostly blacks and greys. (Look in the warmer states for warmer colors. :) Beware of FL if the dealer's price isn't identical to that seen on nissanusa.com

A good dealer is going to find exactly what you want -- you'll have to pay freight, and probably buy the floor mats, etc. Or ... you can try dealing directly with the dealership that has the car you want, then you'll have to physically get there and drive it back. (If you use Robert's VPP procedure, you'll have to verify they'll work with you on that.)

I was prepared to travel at least as far as Dallas/FTW because the trip home would be a semi-vacation and chance to learn the car, but there was a good, aggressive Nissan dealer about 35 miles away who did most of the work for me.

Hope this helps! I strongly suspect that since you're getting Touring/Sport, they may try to get you into a Nav system, too. (Just make sure you're sure you don't want a G37 Coupe before you knock yourself out for the exact combo.)

Thanks man! I didn't even know Nissanusa.com had an inventory search option. I was mainly looking at cars.com and autotrader. I'll have to spend a couple hours looking on there now haha. I'm pretty set on pearl white 370z T+S. No nav. I want either black or persimmon seats.

I used the site inventory search extensively. I looked long and hard for a Pearl White with Persimmon. I'm in CT and the only listed one was loaded, with Nav, in Dallas.

For mine, I ended up with Pearl White with Grey. Black was just too much like living in a cave. In fact, the dealer swapped the grey interior from another car into mine, otherwise I was going to walk away from the deal.

Prices are clearly coming down now that the hard core faithful have gotten their fixes. Should have room to negotiate on price now.

Really??? That seems very unusual for a dealer to do. Nice that you got what you wanted though.

They claim that they do it frequently and it's "no big deal." Of course with the Touring, it's really just the door panels and seats, so they're probably right. They had at least 8 of them on the lot, so there were several alternatives from which to choose, but no Persimmon interiors (sigh). So I got something close to what I wanted, e.g. NOT all black. I know there's now a blue one that started life with a grey interior and is now offered with black!

Picking mine up on Monday. Can't wait!

Gap insurance +495
Ext Warranty +1200

Dealer processing fee $149
Title Lien fee $10
Floor Mats $don't remember, not invoice, but not MSRP/regular price

Everything else was invoice...

So, no, it's not "a lot" by the point that I paid invoice for the car, got carpeted floor mats for less than what they sell them for, and gap insurance, and a 6yr "everything" warranty (since i have it financed for 6 years, I didn't want to be stuck with repair bills if I was still making payments - gap to cover difference between owed and insurance payoff in event of total loss, and gap insurance will also pay up to $1K insurance deductible - warranty was originally $1850 and I haggled it down...)

And, I didn't want nav...

So, no it's not that much! :)

??? Most of us really like the Splash guards.

Is that 33.5 after or before taxes?

Hello, I am now a devoted 370z fan and have been researching for weeks. I was a pure honda lover for 8 years, im 27 now, and had 3 vehicles up to now. 1999 civic ex, 2001 honda integra type R (yes the real type R), and now i drive a black 2000 honda civic SI stock.

my question is, has anyone bought the 370z base below 29k? I know the sports and the touring is sooo tempting but after working as a banker then working for state farm for so long, debt is scary. i have
apprx 15k to put down as well as the trade in value for my civic at 5k, would it seem reasonable to buy a 370z base for under 29k?

by the way, great thread and i learned so much info from pricing, to even how to deal with these dealers ! =)

oh and i uploaded pics of my current civic si in stock. its very clean, not riced out. if you would like to see the rest of my cars you can go to www.cardomain.com/id/jookiyaya ^_^
