Hey everyone. I'm Colin from Lakewood Ranch Florida. So last Tuesday I finally parted ways with my beloved 2007 VW GTI I've had for 8 years which became over the years heavily modded and not exactly fun/comfortable to live with. I've wanted a 370 for a few years and it was never the right time or the right car. I found a 2010 Touring with Sport package with 23,900 miles. After getting approval from my wife I went to the dealer and made it happen. I couldn't be happier and am loving my new car. I am completely new to Zs and really don't have much knowledge about them at all. Mod wise and such I am going to keep the car pretty stock for awhile (Im actually enjoying having air conditioning, a quite car, and a soft suspension for once).

its a subtown in Bradenton east of I75. Im about 10 min from Bradenton motorsports park. I also recently learned there's a tuning company I pass every morning on my way to work called ZTuner.

Gotcha...Now Bradenton I'm familiar with!

Welcome to the forum, great place to learn and get familiar with your Z. I too said I would leave my Z stock for a while but after reading some of the mods on here I am getting the urge.

ill prob end up doing test pipes to delete the cats. seen some videos with the test pipes and stock cat back that sound pretty decent. and they are cheap. im just not super excited for a CEL on my new car but enjoy the option of running 110 leaded on occasion as its readily available down the street from my house.

Thanks everyone. I mean I know a little but but ive been in the VW world for a long time. Im really enjoying it so far... except for my insurance increase and my MPG decrease. but otherwise very impressed with how the motor responds across the band. coming from a turbo car I do miss the way boost comes in but linear power is a lot more predictable. Very easy to predict turns and the way the car will react when the rear starts to kick a little. I need to learn the limits a little better. My GTI had KW V3 coilovers so im used to a much different suspension feel.

Hey Colin,

Congratulations and welcome to the club.

I can relate to the GTI. I had a 2006 Audi A3 turbo with sport suspension...frigging loved that car. My mods on it were REVO chip, 3" test pipe, 2.75" Miltek exhaust, Carbona intake, custom diverter valve, and a few more things I can't remember.

The sport suspension was tight but it could wear on you during long trips. The Z has a much better ride. The only issue with the A3, and probably the GTI, was that when I ran it hard, I would get fuel cuts. They may have remedied this probably by now.But it was a hot topic on the A3 forum back then...aftermarket fuel pumps where being rolled out to VW/Audi owners. I was just about to buy/try one but ended up selling my car.

my gti mod list went like this.. revo stage 2, apr HPFP, RS4 injectors, neuspeed intake, custom fabricated 3" downpipe open with side exit, solid motor mounts, KW V3 suspension, full AC removal with custom belt, Fully gutted interior with 2 remaining seats, all airbags removed, 4pt harnesses.. the list could keep going. so yea im enjoying stock car haha
