The new guy in Northern California

Good morning (at least it is right now).

I traded in my Tacoma X-Runner about 2 weeks ago for a 2009 Nissan 370z 6spd Touring.

Interestingly enough, When I googled the vin this thread pops up

http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...59m402001.html

But 15K miles and about 6 years later, I figured all the kinks have been figured out. the transmission/clutch all shift smoothly, The exhaust is stock for now (i kept looking for any "fast intentions" lettering) and the brakes are fine.

I live out towards Tracy (Mountain House) and work for Tesla in Fremont so it will not be my daily driver, I use the household E90 when I can to keep the miles down...

So far I've only changed the reverse lights, overhead interior lights, trunk lights and vanity mirror lights to LED (came with LED license plate lights already  ) and swapped out a crappy universal shift knob with an Abrams M1 satin knob.

The plans are light, I get a discount on tirerack through work so coilovers will be in the near future, 15mm wheel spacers will be ordered by the end of the day or early tomorrow, the navigation map will be updated eventually, i want to have the windows re tinted 15% all around then the basic bolt ons (intake, headers, exhaust, tune, short shifter).

Currently...

I've had several cars in the past but this one is clearly my fastest... The X-Runner was a great truck but overall, i'm not a truck person. It looked pretty and was decent on power and I always thought it handled well, But in comparison to the Z34, It's a pig... In the Z34 when I press the brakes hard it stops with enough force to put a face imprint on the windshield, in the X-Runner if you brake hard, it'll stop eventually... I'll miss having ample cup holders and storage compartments until I press the gas or turn on the heated seats on a cold morning.

The X-Runner that is replaced by the Z34

I DD a silverado, the first time taking the Z out in the spring I always end up about going through the windshield from hitting the brakes too hard at first.
The truck brakes from 80mph-0 in about 5000 feet :icon17:

:hello: Sweet, I'm in Altamont... I used to do the voluntary neighborhood watch patrols out here working with the sheriff's department before I started working long hours.

:icon17: Sounds about right, For the X-Runner Toyota knew of it's downfalls and offered TRD aftermarket support to make it a "sports truck"... Too slow? They have a intake, exhaust and supercharger you can buy, Crappy shifter? They have a short shifter, Crappy brakes? they have a BBK.

The several times I had to panic brake to avoid running a red light or stop sign... Slam on brake pedal- It slows down NOT STOPPING- Not going to make it, not going to make it, not going to make it! f*ck it were running it. On the test drive in the Z, I got to the first stop sign and I just tapped the pedal and felt like an anchor fell from the bottom of the car. The sales lady even said "WHOA, BRAKES WORK!" :icon18:

Thanks for the welcome everyone! :hello:
