Since it's Episode VII, it will take place after all the other movies. I think I saw somewhere it's supposed to take place 30-40 years after the last film. So Luke (if he was even in it) would be in his 50s or 60s.

Xip should be in here, I think he's a big fan.

Only saw it the one time, but I thought it was ok. Nothing overly great, but not bad either.

Also, I think Harison Ford is on for 7. Not sure about Hamill or Fisher.

They have confirmed none from the original 3 have signed on yet. They are in talks of what the parts would be, but the movies will be taking place 50+ years after RotJ. These means if they do not cast anyone from the original 3 they can easily write them out.

It would be awesome bringing back the original cast, but the story needs to stand on it's own, with new lead characters within the Star Wars universe. I cringe every time them bring back huge franchises I loved as a kid. The last Indiana Jones was disappointing to say the least.....so is Live Free or Die Hard :/..... At least with Star Wars, it was never really about a single character. I think JJ Abrams can get it done right...at least I'm hoping he does.

IJ was good until the Aliens
I liked LFDH has it hit all the points of the original, have not seen the new one (Good Day to Die Hard).

If they bring the cast back I can see it being something simple like in Star Trek reboot, fits the story and helps explain certain things but only a few minutes of screen time.

From what Ive read, the original cast would make cameo appearances, because the new trilogy will center around Han and Leia's kids. IDK, its all speculative now. One thing I do hope is that Disney, being the giant they are, can nail more aspects of the movies than Lucas did. For instance, better casting, less predictable plot line, etc.

My main issue with Disney is that they have to whitewash everything. Everything has to have a happy and positive spin. I keep hoping to have a star wars movie like Episode V again, dark and gritty. I just can't see Disney going in that direction. Perhaps if Ridley Scott does VIII... that would be awesome.

Thats true. They tried the dark and gritty in episode 3 but it was lame and blanketed by bad acting. God the bad acting, that ruined episodes 1-3 for me. As long as disney gets that right, I'd be happy with the rest lol!

It wasn't necessarily the acting, it was the writing and Lucas directing with a bunch of yesmen behind him instead of people who had the balls to go, "No George, that is just effing dumb."
