Friends, I am thrilled to announce that I'll be starring in the Star Wars reboot directed by JJ Abrams. I'll be playing Master Ceti Maru, a member of the Jedi High Council. The new film, entitled "Star Wars: Galactic Empire," is greenlit and will begin filming sometime early next year. It is truly a moment for The Star Alliance. Thanks to all my fans for their decades of support.

Cool I can see him fitting a jedi master role pretty well!

I'm looking forward to this. Being a child of the 80s, the original 3 Star Wars movies are all in my personal top 10. Here's a few reasons I'm excited:

1- Lucas isn't as involved as he was for the most recent trio of crap movies. I'm a firm believer that 2 things made the originals great and the most recent ones terrible:
- Lucas had to fight to get his way in the originals; everything was an ordeal. In the most recent trio, he was basically god and if you didn't agree with him, your career got shut down. Thus he has absolute say, and his decisions/writing/directing were terrible, terrible, terrible.
- Lucas didn't make the originals as kid's movies. They're adult movies accessible to kids. This makes them timeless. The recent trio were made squarely as kid's movies; hence why they're so hard to get into for adults.

2- JJ Abrams grew up with Star Trek and Star Wars, and he nailed the latest Star Wars reboot. If anyone can get down to the essence of what makes these movies great and stick to that formula, it should be him. The only person I'd trust other than him is already busy: Wheedon.

3- Disney might still make kids movies, but they back more than that. Did you enjoy The Avengers? Guess who!

I'm also hoping that Disney realizes they can make a lot of money by releasing the original versions of the first three films on bluray. Screw the changes Lucas put in later.

So because Ridley Scott made a movie you didn't like, you are going to discount his whole body of work?

The Duellists, Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster... I think I would be ok with him taking a crack at it. Never going to happen though, Disney plans on releasing Star Wars movies on a yearly basis.

You seem to have ignored or misread part of what I said so I will bold it for you:

The point I was making, and perhaps I should have rolled my two replies into one, was that it does not matter how good a director is, was, or could be because if left to their own devices (Lucas in episodes 1-3 and Scott with Prometheus) they are entirely capable of ******** on and ruining a franchise they themselves helped create.

Why would you think Ridley Scott would have (I'll bold it for you) no restraint? Star Wars is not his franchise. Just because you didn't like Prometheus doesn't mean its a terrible movie, and it is infinitely better than anything Lucas has made since Episode VI. Seems like you are making a pointless argument.

I don't know if any of you guys watch Lost Girl, but Ksenia Solo (yeah, last name is Solo!) is rumored to be in the final consideration stage of being cast for the role of Jaina Solo. I'd love to see her have a starring role.
