Yeah, I'm actually excited for this movie. Despite peoples need to keep the nostalgic unadulterated ... the Michael Bay films are pretty entertaining.

His only problem is stretching the original story lines. Ninja turtles from space? ... Really?

Yeah that was just an idea. It wasn't set in stone. And wasn't he ooze originally an unexplained substance? They just wanted the ooze coming from space. I can't wait for this movie.

well, in the original comic books the ooze did come from krang the brain... who was an alien.. so it's not like WTF stretch... but a planet of Ninja turtles is plain stupid

I'm about 92% sure that in the original Eastman and Laird TMNT comics, a canister of radioactive waste flew off a truck hitting a kid with an aquarium of turtles, which proceeded to go down a storm drain where splinter found them. I don't believe Krang was in the original Eastman and Laird comics.

Pretty sure that Emmanuel Eastman and Carlos Laird were aliens themselves, so the ooze actually comes from Mexico.

Disclaimer: none of that is true.

I read an interview with them.. and perhaps that was their original plan was the ooze came from Krang.. maybe they were just trying to defend Bay?

Who knows. Bay is awesome either way. He makes good movies. All his movies r hits even tho transformers 2 kinda blew. I like bay and I like TMNT. It'll b a dope movie.

Isamu 08-29-2012 10:19 AM

Bay is not awesome.. he is mediocre at best... however, he does make good explosions.. something that doesn't really fit into the TMNT world...

and it's not slated to be called TMNT... just Ninja Turtles...

I will however, withhold judgement until it coems out..

imho Michael Bay needs to go back to doing original stuff, not rehashing 80's/90's cartoons

The Z monster 08-29-2012 10:20 AM

He only rehashed transformers. Everything else he did was original.

exactly... he needs to go back to doing other stuff... his rehashes while fun to watch do not do justice to the originals.
tho, to me sounds like you have a case of upMBButtitis... lol

he really isn't THAT great.. but he isn't HORRID either. :stirthepot:

I agree. I actually think his movies pretty much suck, aside from the explosions...

Cmike2780 08-29-2012 11:48 AM

Not very realistic. If they wanted more realism, they should have keet the original origin story with the radioactive ooze...but instead of becoming Ninjas, the turtles die from cancer :(

The Z monster 08-29-2012 12:24 PM

Cancer turtles lol... I think bay is awesome. Not great or fantastic. And plus he's just a producer. He's not directing it. Len wiseman is. He kinda sucks too.

frost 08-29-2012 11:52 PM

#1. I'm sticking with my belief the original B&W comics just had radioactive ooze. Maybe the story said much later that somehow the ooze on the truck came from Krang, but I don't think that was how the story started.

#2. As I went through Michael Bay's movies, there isn't much to like. I liked Armageddon, transformers was decent, and pearl harbor was watchable. All the rest is garbage imo.
When I looked at the films directed by Liebsman, I didn't see anything worth a ****.
