From what I've read about as far as further plot lines in the story go, some characters are almost caught up, where as others still have lots of book time

From what I've read about as far as further plot lines in the story go, some characters are almost caught up, where as others still have lots of book time to cover. I know about the whole show catching up to the book fiasco, but realistically, it seems like that could happen next season.
