I think the episode was pretty good considering it's pretty much half way into the book. They need to save stuff for next season. Overall though, this season was pretty epic, so I really wasn't too disappointed with the finale. It's not a shocking cliffhanger, but you do get a sense that something big is coming. There are just a lot of things happening at once. You really have to think about what happens when everything clashes. You have Stanis preparing to assemble an army to protect the wall, the entire north despising the Freys/Lanisters for killing a guest at a feast, Arya killing someone in cold blood, Theon's sister coming to his rescue, Jon Snow warning and getting ready for battle with the wildlings, Dani's army more than doubling in size and then of course you have all the things happening at King's Landing.

Just tacking more onto the above ^

I am not too disappointed with the final, it was pretty much what I expected. You really can't follow up the Red Wedding, but you still have to tie up some loose ends and set up some new ones. It did feel like it was thrown together compared to the rest of the season, but meh, I'm ok with it.
No one likes Walder Frey. Probably not even his children. Arya had a large body count by this time in the books. But I do like how the show has handled it, they are really giving her a slow build and it makes much more sense of how she handles her future. That whole dialog in the last episode with the Hound, about her fear of getting close to reuniting with her family, was great. Every time she gets close, family members die. Terribly cruel for a child. I think she is 12 on the show. I am really looking forward to next season. The wait is too long. |

Ah, Arya. The last "Stark" of the Starks. Simply because I refuse to count Sansa for anything other than a village idiot. |
Are there any other Baratheon kids in the show beside Joffrey?

Myrcella was shipped off to Dorne last season. Cersei wasn't too happy with Tyrion doing that. Tommen is still skipping around King's Landing. You should see a bit more of him next season. :)

Anyone notice the Crow's Eye in there when Yara was walking by, for those who've read the books?
