Bought a 3d tv

I've been thinking of buying a 3d tv for a few months but couldn't justify buying one unless the price was around $1000 including the glasses. I wanted a plasma because it has less ghosting and it can truly display 1080p unlike lcds. The newer plasmas don't have burn in problems.

I saw online the samsung 50 inch 7000 series was $1600 and for a couple days I thought of buying it. Samsung offers 2 glasses, 4 3d shrek movies, and a blu ray player, which I could sell on eBay for $400. But I will be keeping everything. Then on Saturday I went into the store to buy replacement heads for my toothbrush and saw the tv was $1400. I should have my new tv delivered in a week.

There's not a lot of 3d games or movies that are out.
I'm excited to play killzone 3 in a month. I'm also getting the resident evil movie. It's like buying my first DVD player I just want to experience the visuals.

Cnet gave it a better 3d rating than panasonic so it should be good. I'm not much of a gamer but I may pick up gt. I'm excited about killzone I've read the flying mud, sparks, and smoke is 3d.

congrats on your tv and not bashing it, but I never really liked the cnet reviews to be 100% proper. Samsung makes some awesome tv's dont get me wrong but the panasonics color reproduction is much more realistic.

if you plan to calibrate it..

avsforum should have good info.

hey I have the Samsung Series 9 46" and OMG!!!! the color reproduction is PHENOMENAL!!! Better than any TV out right now and I got it for $2600

plus the remote can show whats on the screen so if I have to leave the room I can still watch TV or play video games lol

I bought the blu ray picture calibration disc and I managed to adjust some of the settings. This tv has so many things I can adjust.

Wow, anyone get resident evil 3d? That has amazing 3d picture. I never forgot I was watching a 3d movie. I didn't notice any crosstalk either. If anyone has a 3d tv I recommend this video. As a comparison I was underwelmed with the 3d in tron.

I have my pc connected to my tv and I had the 3d on and I could stare at my wallpaper all day. The fenders bulge out so much. I'm looking forward to all the summer 3d movies to come out on blu ray. Anyone else into 3d movies?

I got Thor and the 3d wasn't bad. I've read that it had ghosting issues because of the dark scenes. I didn't notice on my plasma. Pirates is next on the list.

Watched final destination 5 3d. I really enjoyed the first final destination, but not so much the sequels. The 3d is spectacular, and the effects are awesome. The movie wasn't bad, definitely a good movie to show 3d off.

i like watching football in 3d. Ive only seen some college games and it adds a really cool effect. Great TV btw, i swear by Samsungs.
