Anyway, basically, Michonne took a beating that Andrea took in the original storyline while on sniper watch and Sasha took the role of Holly(who they weirdly briefly introduced a while ago, and then totally skipped over), so she should have shown up as a zombie with a bag on her head (now a TWD cliché...), and it should have been deliberate on the part of Negan to gain easier access to attack Rick's group, for some reason I forget. They turned it into a weird "hero's death" that you could see coming a mile away, what with all the cut-scenes of Sasha in her ostensibly final moments listening to music Also, why is Eugene now post-apocalypse Dr. Kevorkian? Well, it was nice to finally see more of Negan again. I can't wait to hear him ask Dwight next season if he is wearing his "shitting pants" Oh, and I hate the "Garbage People," who for some unclear reason all talk as though society collapsed 25 - 40 years ago instead of only a few years, and they've forgotten how to form full sentences and to not eat old pooped-in diapers.

They really don't fit the whole TWD universe at all. They are kind of like the feral kids in the original Mad Max movies -- like first generation post-apocalypse people who have a totally different set of norms and ideas about the world.
Are they a community of people who were homeless/houseless/refugees before society collapsed? That would explain why they're an extra level of disconnected from survivors who were more a part of "regular" society. But, if so, you'd figure they'd have been among the first to get eaten just because they'd already have no real shelter from the weather let alone a zombie outbreak. In any case, they really need a more coherent backstory. They just seem like they were dropped in from some other story entirely. I can only think of one other thing, and if this is the answer, its a bad one. The Garbage People could eventually become

, but that group only talks and acts oddly because

. Otherwise,
( Click to show/hide )
really live more like indigent pre-colonial invasion people (a stark contrast to Rick and company who are working their way to living a pre-industrial revolution/post colonialism settler kind of life), albeit filtered through a zombie outbreak.I dunno. The fact that their group feels really forced into the TWD universe and they ended up serving as just a needless plot device (i.e., the ol' double-cross), I'm kind of hoping they just get wiped out next season.

Last night Dead season premiere.....I'm glad they found a place to make all that ammo for them, and used most of it to shatter windows on Negan's compound and never seeming to kill anyone. Daryl can ride a motorcycle and then shoot while moving an explosive charge and never miss. They easily kill the people that are supposed to be scouts or watchers for Negan, just sneak up and knife them in the back. Negan's army is seemingly lost or not present. In the end, a big nothingburger.....

Looks like the big kitty got gobbled up by a radioactive zombies....Daryl crashes his bike and moments later is up again and the rat bike shows no damage, at all. Rick crashes into a ravine and is not injured at all. The Savior in the back has a full auto machine gun and totally misses shooting Rick as he drives behind the truck.

It's really petty and nit-picky, but it's really starting to bother me that they never fire any blanks and just cgi in all the muzzle flares. All of the scenes of people shooting, and every last one of them is just holding an empty rifle pretending to fire it.

Yep, they made such a big deal out of Eugene scrounging up the supplies to make one bullet, yet wasted hundreds of rounds shooting out all of Negan's windows.

Anyone notice all the weird tension between Rick and Daryl these days? What's that all about. I get why Daryl is not too eager to take prisoners if he can just shoot them, but the animosity bubbling in him towards Rick feels a bit out of left field. All in all, "All Out War" is not a very well crafted story -- in part, I think, because its much more complex and broad in scope than pretty much all story arcs before it. He just hadn't tackled anything that had to consider more than a small singular group of survivors, zombies, and maybe a few other stragglers. Even the Woodbury arc is really about the Governor vs. everyone who pisses him off, but the people of Woodbury (in the comic and the show) were really just regular people. Not so for the Kingdom or the Saviors, who are much more unified and militant (not to mention very "theme" driven). Kirkman's stories get much better after this one, so AMC has a chance to genuinely do a better job of following the outline and fleshing out the details to make them more coherent for the remainder of AOW (I actually kind of liked their "flash forwards"). So far, I haven't been too displeased with this season... so far

For readers of the comic - is Rick actually a decent leader? On the show, I can't for the life of me figure out why people continue to follow him. He completely lost his **** a long time ago, and he makes some truly boneheaded decisions that get his people killed.

Earlier in the comic Rick was a bit... unstable...
( Click to show/hide )
like TV Rick to some extent, but for the most part people follow him because he is cunning (even ruthless) and seemingly un-killable. Basically, come hell or high water, he survives. Being on his side means you will probably survive too (of course, life is unpredictable when you've got the dead rising from their graves eating people...).And not TV character Carol, who went from housewife in abusive marriage to one woman Navy SEAL team un-killable. She hasn't gotten a scratch since season one. I mean comic Rick gets hurt BAD all the time and just keeps going.
( Click to show/hide )
That said, as in the TV show, every now and then, he has someone looking to take him out and take over, so not everyone is happy with him. Speaking of personality, I hadn't thought of this before, but if you have ever played The Last of Us, Joel's character is a lot like comic Rick.
