SPOILER ALERT I guess? Couldn't kill his zombie wife, couldn't kill the wolves or the zombie that took out his mentor. The latter flop caused the death of a person and potentially more deaths at the hands of the wolves. For crying out loud, he let the one guy grab a firearm! And how the hell does a single staggering zombie take out a supposed bow master (not that it was ever believable with fat, bald guy wielding a stick lol). Morgan is just annoying and has no place with the group. I get the "all life is precious" mentality he carries now but not when you're responsible for the well being of a bigger group. Hopefully Morgan and that fcuk giraffe priest will take off on their own and won't waste another episode of TWD lol. |

Kind of a weaker episode this week in comparison to what's been going on... I am kinda digging this "one big event" told in broken story lines for the first half the season. At least it's something new for the show (at least this much of it). The burned zombies were pretty cool this week, very creepy looking.

getting more and more frustrated with the show. How is glenn completely swarmed with walkers, and they open fire with 3 AK's, kill every walker in 2 seconds, and glenn is untouched by a single round? How does darryl scuffle with, and dispatch one of negans men behind the tanker truck, let alone load and fire the RPG at them, and no one notices a thing, even though they are 15 feet away?? I mean, common sense tells you that in the post-apocalyptic scenario, Its got to be dead quiet out there (no pun) sans a few birds chirping.......
Sounds funny, but its getting a little too "unrealistic" By the way, I was hoping Glenn was going to buy it last night, just after he spotted Maggie. what a sweet reunion....lol

I enjoyed last night's episode for the most part. The moment with the Saviors on the road was good. I enjoyed the leaders character a lot and the interactions with Sasha and Abraham worked for me. I liked that Sasha was done being afraid and tried to stand up to them, but the Abraham has the foresight to reel her back in and play it smart. I do agree that Daryl overpowering one of them behind the truck completely unnoticed doesn't seem very likely.
When the episode didn't open with Sam immediately getting eaten for trying to get his mom's attention at the end of the prior episode I was a little disappointed, but we got what we wanted in the end. Watching Jessie and Sam get eaten was the perfect motivation to finally push Ron to his breaking point, since he had always accused Rick of getting people killed, and I loved that Michonne just said "We don't have time for this ****!" when he pulled the gun on Rick/Carl. I'm so happy they decided to incorporate Carl getting his eye shot out into the show. Speaking of getting pushed over the edge, the look on Rick's face when Jesse died and seeing what he thought might be his future disappear before his eyes. He got Carl to the help he needed and then went Tyreese on herd of walkers. It was nice to see the not only the original group coming together to make a stand, but to finally see the Alexandrians join in a pull their weight. Even Gabriel got in on the action! I will concede that Glenn's plot armor was showing in some major ways this episode, and I think he's going to continue to be safe for quite awhile now. I can't see them killing him off now because they already "killed" him and brought him back. Killing him for real wouldn't have nearly as much of an impact on the audience next time around. That being said, I now fear for Daryl's longevity on the show. The Carol/Tyreese/Wolf story line was a little boring, but it didn't get in the way of the main story too much and it did ultimately end up getting back to the infirmary to help Carl. The only thing I really didn't like about this episode was the pacing. I'm tired of the scenes where all the sound disappears and we're forced to looked at a characters face as they go through some internal breakdown. It completely takes me out of the scene as I wait for them to get back to the action. Overall, pretty damn good episode. Negan is going to be pissed about his men getting blown up and I feel like Daryl may be the one who pays the price for it.

There are a bunch of characters that were created specifically for the show. Daryl, Merle, Noah, Lizzie/Mika, Sasha, T-Dog, Beth, Deanna, etc.
Some of them them take on the roles of certain comic book characters and others are brand new.

Well last night was definitely a change of pace from the mid-season premier. Much slower, but not slow for lack of idea. We got some pretty good character development instead of just filler. It seems like there was a bit of a time jump from the end of the last week to this week, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how long it's been.
It was nice to see a more Daryl heavy episode (though increased screen time has never bowed well for characters on this show). I liked the introduction of Jesus, but the whole thing with the truck started to get a little goofy towards the end. Can't find supplies, a whole truck of supplies, the truck got stolen, we got the truck back, the truck is at the bottom of a pond. Welp, that the law of averages for you. Carl and Enid were interesting to see. Carl still wants to be outside the walls, but it looks like Enid's talk with Glenn really hit home. Carl's reaction to zombie Dianna was very mature and I liked his response when discussing the situation with Michonne. And speaking of Michonne, it looks like she's picking up the slack for Andrea's character in the comics. I not sure how I feel about it right now because I like Michonne's arc in the comic, but it could work in the show. She clearly cares for Rick and his family above and beyond the other main characters.
