At least they ended the utterly incomprehensible side story they created (apparently just to kill off Beth?).
Bring on the Saviors/Negan -- that should keep things pretty intense for a while Looking forward to Glen meeting Lucile

Before the episode aired they said we wouldn't see the ending coming. Watching the episode and realizing nothing was happening for the first 75% of it I was wondering what the shocking moment was going to be and quickly landed on someone getting killed, especially after Hardwick came on and said they had a special guest on Talking Dead.
Once you know someone is going to die it's pretty easy to figure out who. You just have to look at which underdeveloped and underused characters are starting to get more time in front of the camera. Thought they might just let Carol succumb to her injuries or put her out of her misery if they were going to leave her crippled, but that wouldn't have been exciting enough. After that Beth is really all you got left. I never really liked her character or her signing, but I still felt a little sad seeing her go. Especially since Maggie is now the only one left from the Greene family. That being said, I was expecting more out of Beth's last stand. After all that buildup she stabbed Dawn in the collarbone. They could have had Beth slice her jugular so even after she gets blasted she still would have taken Dawn out. If Dawn hadn't been so quick on the trigger she would have just looked at it like and it would have been a really awkward moment for everyone in that hallway. So while I get why she did it, it really makes her death seem rather pointless.

Great episode, was more like an art film of dream sequences. But how many main people can they kill off and keep us watching? If they off Daryl I'm done with it. They should have killed that dumb FVuck Abraham or the redneck Eugene.

This whole season has one purpose: Put everyone in one place with walls, and then run into the Saviors.
Oh, and kill off everyone irrelevant to the actual story (good, bad, welcome or unwelcome). In theory, that makes Eugene and Abraham bullet and zombie proof for a while, BTW... but who knows. Tyrese was overdue to go. I was not a fan of the hallucination storytelling angle. It felt really forced. I'm sure Chris Hardwick was very excited to talk about it.

I generally like the episode, but the fever dream was a bit much for me. I did like how they tried to keep you guessing on whether Tyreese was going to make it or not. He's bit and screwed, cut his arm off maybe not, bleeds out done for. I'm sad to see him go, but he wasn't as badass as his comic book counterpart, and he was supposed to die at the prison so I knew he was on borrowed time to begin with. I just didn't think they'd open the season with his demise.
But I got to see Bob one more time! Can't really explain it myself, but I really liked the character for some reason. I like some of the other character development from this episode though. Like how Glenn has notice himself changed by the world and Michonne is nearing a breaking point and just wants to stop moving. It'll be interesting to see how they work their way to Savior story line and whether they decide to take anymore detours before they get there. Obviously that town they had gone to had been attacked as evident by the bent in fence and the firebombed houses, but why did they turn all those zombies into nuggets and shove them in the back of an abandoned truck. Hopefully Noah doesn't end up being everyone's new favorite character to hate, which I already fear that set the path for. At least we know he's super fast. He can outrun everyone in the group with a broken leg.

Speaking of Noah, that's probably my biggest issue with this show is that in probably 50% or more of the episodes, one or more characters (not Noah specifically) does something incredibly stupid, incredibly irrational, or just "looses their sh!t" randomly and ends up causing a problem simply because the plot needs them to. Case in point, Andrea's entire season with the Governor. Seriously... nobody is that dumb or ignorant at this point in this world.
Noah may have been somewhat sheltered from the horrors outside by staying in the hospital but he still has seen awful things and done awful things. I realize it was his home and what not but he suddenly realized he was at his street in his home town and randomly takes off running like a madman. Why? Oh, to get Tyreese into a zombie infested house... Ah, that makes sesnse *rolls eyes*. To be fair, I still liked this episode overall but my God they get really liberal with the characters doing dumb crap if it makes things easier to move the plot along. No one ever claimed that TWD tv show had the best scripting but even I could come up with a better way to get Tyreese into that position that wasn't so ridiculous.
