I understand that there's a need for drama, but I don't understand why it has to come at the cost of main cast looking like morons. I didn't like Denise's loud mouth getting them caught last week, but I accepted it because she'd never been outside the walls before and didn't know any better.
The main cast pulling the same mistake, especially after Daryl and Rosita literally just got caught, makes them look like a bunch of Alexandrians.

Eh, I wish they'd gotten Henry Rollins for Negan (too old?), but the guy who played the Comedian isn't bad.
All in all, I was pretty happy with (the last 10 minutes of) the episode. Considering Norman Reedus has a new show coming up, I'm guessing he's the one who got kisses from Lucile? "He's taking it like a champ!" So Carol is off to the Kingdom? Hm.

I was on board until they decided to end the season the a flippin' cliffhanger. I was sitting on my couch, heart racing, anticipation building, and then....cut to black. At that moment I took a second to make sure the show was over and all I could muster was, "Oh fuuuuck yoouuu!" At the end of the most cliffhanger-filled season they end it with yet another cliff hanger? What a slap in the face. It's not like people weren't going to watch next season without a cliffhanger, and my fear is that we will start season 7 with a time jump and may have to spend an episode or two figuring out who it was, ruining one of the iconic scenes in the comics.
The rest of the episode wasn't bad. Carol is still being a wimp, but Morgan finally killed someone and it looks like we'll be introduced to the Kingdom soon enough. Father Gabriel looks like he is may be turning into a half-decent character too. We finally got to see the size of the Saviors and for once they actually felt threatening (that look on Rick's face really sold the last scene for me). I think Jeffery Dean Morgan did a great job as Negan in the 6 minutes he was actually on screen. As far as who got killed I'm down to four people. Off the top of my head we had Rick, Carl, Michonne, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Rosita, Eugene, Abraham, and Aaron. Negan mentioned cutting out Carl's other eye and feeding it to Rick if anyone moved, so I think they're safe. I don't think they'd kill one of the women so Michonne, Maggie, and Rosita are safe. Aaron is to insignificant at this point so I think he's safe too. That leaves Daryl, Glenn, Eugene, and Abraham. - Daryl would give the most shock value and he's already got the history with Dwayne (plus Norman's new show coming out). - Glenn dies in the comics so that's an obvious choice, but they've already proven that just because it happens in the comics doesn't mean it'll happen in the show. - Eugene has been building as a character and had that nice moment where he gave Rick the information to make bullets, but like Aaron, I don't think it would be impactful enough. - Abraham has also been given more attention this season and he's a brick shithouse who's the most likely to "take it like a champ" and he had that discussion earlier in the episode about settling down and making pancakes with Sasha. My money is on Daryl, then Abraham, with Glen rounding out the top 3.

There was a season finale to a show last night? All I saw was a 90 minute commercial with a few quick shots of some folks driving around and talking. Aka this entire pointless, boring, lazy season. Too bad, since things started out very promising. After the mid-season finale it just went downhill. The finale really encapsulated the entire season of time wasting for me. 90 minutes of fluff and filler all for a brief moment of action capped off with a truly lazy writers ending. A cheap cliff hanger ending is just cheap. It was especially disappointing considering the visuals leading up to it which were outstanding. Really? CGI blood dripping on the screen? Did Negan lucille the camera man lol? I can honestly say this season has cemented my decision to stop watching the show. The show just refuses to allow natural progression of characters or story arcs of any kind. Tired and endlessly repeating characters with rinse, lather and repeat story lines is this show in spades. There's just too many better, more entertaining shows out there right now to spend time on.

**** this show.
Last night was thinly veiled 90 minutes of cashing in on ad revenue. There was zero reason from a story standpoint to make it 90 minutes, especially when they committed to absolutely nothing at the end. That first person view of the blood coming down was comical. Pretty sure that was an overlay from MSPaint. Cheap effects to fully seal the deal on a weak *** cheap ******* ending. I'm mad that I spent time on it this season... I've been struggling since Terminus. "The Walking". Dead was redundant in the title that season. This season truly cemented itself as the "Toyota Prius" of TV shows - terrible content and execution, but makes for a good run of commercials. |

Eugene is too important to how the story develops, but then so was Andrea... I agree that Darryl is the most likely, but he's so popular...

Glen should get the honor -- he earned it,

and it would be extra horrible, given that Maggie is there.I endured a few minutes of the Chris Hardwick Licks AMC and Kirkman's Balls Show, and they had the gall to claim that this wasn't just a "cheap stunt", and that the pay off next season would be worth it. No, it most certainly is a cheap stunt, and they are writing IOU's their production team rarely makes good on. I'll hang in to see Negan -- although I usually don't like their deviations from the comic (and not because "canon" , but rather just not better writing), I did like their take on the Governor... well, other than them really toning it down in regard to his various interactions with Michonne, but I certainly understand why they couldn't go there. So, their version of Negan might turn out to have been worth the wait... We'll see, I guess...

I feel the same way about Negan. The shows adaptation will certainly have less of a foul mouth (which I think is a large part of his character's personality) but there are ways to work around it and I liked what I saw last night, so here to hoping the writers don't totally ruin him.
Scott Gimple's excuse for not showing which character dies is complete crap. He said the character getting killed was the end of one story and the effects after it are the start of a new one. Then why not show who died to properly end the story? If they just gloss over the actual murder and start season 7 with people in mourning I may stop watching right then and there.

Well the season finale was a disappointment, but overall TWD IMO is still better than 98% of the complete garbage that is being pushed as entertainment nowadays.

It's going to be Eugene......after all he gave Rick the plans to make bullets before he drove off. No way in hell AMC kills Daryl......they make too much money off merchandise from him and having his own show, he will not die. Glenn to much like the comics, Abraham no, because it's expected. Won't be Rick or Carl, too integral to the show. You don't kill the lead character. Negan does not seem to kill women, so that removes Maggie and Michone. So it's going to be Eugene......

Well it was Glenn and Abraham.......seeing Glen with the skull crushed in and his eye popping out was pretty gruesome.......So now we have a whole season of Rick being Negan's *itch.

Rick is being a little b*tch, but if I was told to cut my kids arm off I would start acting like a b*tch too. IDK I think I would be doing exactly what Rick is. That's an army, they just brutally killed two of your people & enjoyed the hell out of it. I had to do a palate cleanser after that episode, I watched the Simpson and Regular Show lol.

Here is what bugs me about the show......we have all of these various places in and around Alexandria Va, where I suppose the New Alexandrian s live....well how can these large groups (Saviors, NA, Negas Army....and others) exist without really knowing about each other for quite some time? And the timelines....well Karl is almost grown up...but Gimple and others say its really not been more than a year or so since the outbreak....In reality, they need to show that at least 5 years have gone by....and why not explore DC some in the show? The NA enclosure would be about 10 miles away from them. In five years or so...it would all have gone to crap....weeds and trees growing up in roads, buildings collapsed, all kinds of things. Lets have them explore the DC metro tunnel systems, the capitol, and other places to forage. By now, most of the ammo would be go too.

Exactly.....by now all the gun stores would be raided and the Armories too. Plus they all have nice looking machine guns.....once again not lots of ammo for those applications around after 5 years. THings would devolve by now into more primitive battle....and gas?? They seem to have lots of it....after 5 years it would be bad bad gas. Full of moisture and turning into molasses. Plus after 5 years, the zombies...the first, second, and third batches....would be wasted away....Call be Debby Downer....But IF they followed time....then it would be more than find sanctuary, fight, lose each other, run, come back together, find villian...rinse and repeat.
