i guess that was the show's way of having her deal with her demons and get back on track so to speak?

That episode was exactly what I was expecting. They always follow an episode with a lot of action with a slow, quiet one.

if they were going to go down that path of showing Carl is not as confident and sure without his father around (which is fine), they should have shown the resolution in this episode. they should have shown him get his "swagger" back at the end. seems like i remember the beginning of season before last, Carl was a little bad@ss helping clear buildings and things like that. it's cool to show that he's not as confident without his dad around but they need to make it a little more clear that that's what's going on.

I think they did a good job. With the Xbox then his tantrum with his dad to the pudding and his mistakes.

I didn't read any comments from the new episode, we are watching it tonight. We also just watched the last two episodes from last season on Saturday. Man what a way to wrap things up, I loved it. I will read your posts tonight after we catch up.

Going into that kids room you could see that Karl longed for that past life where he had a game console, TV, guitar, computer and comic books, where he could be a kid again. But he knows he can't have that life anymore and he is not quite big enough to take a walker out with a stick all by himself. So he still needs his dad.

Slow to start off the season but it was not to bad. I agree the way Carl learned he needed his dad was a little too simple but it got it done quickly and will let the story progress faster. I would be more upset if it took three episodes for Carl to figure it out while Rick lay helpless on the couch after getting his sorry *** whooped.
The scenes with Michonne were perfect if you ask me. Alone once again after breaking down and accepting a new "family" she snaps when blending with a zombie that looks like her. The dramatic head chopping scene was exactly what it should have been. I have not read the comics nor do I ever plan to, but people need to let go of it and just enjoy the show. If they want to go off on their own direction but keep it interesting who cares? You will have two stories to follow at that point, pick your favorite of the two, but keep them separate. I have read many books turned movie that didn't paint the picture I had in my head. I don't get upset over it though. It's nice to see it on screen regardless. Appreciate it for what it is or we could lose it.

I have not read the comics either, and I don't plan to for a while anyhow. My question is this...how long has it been since the outbreak? The Group has gone through at least one winter....I think....and the episode at the CDC he told Rick it went global after 19 days...I would like to see a back fill story so we learn what happened and where did the zombie virus come from...so getting back to the last episode...if in fact... its been at least the summer or spring when the outbreak happened....then winter...now summer again....all the yards and plants would be very grown over...the houses where Karl go the food would be overgrown by now....being Georgia in the two summers since it happened. Ok, so that's being anal....

Yeah, it kinda bothered me when they would go out searching for supplies in abandoned neighborhoods and all of the lawns are recently mowed, but you gotta let some **** slide.

idk... I feel like this show is starting to fall off. Last season was kinda boring imo. I;m still gonna religiously watch with the hopes that it gets way better...

Last season was so much better than most of 2. They could have renamed the show "The Talking Farm" based on season 2. At least 3 had an antagonist. Shane didn't really count because, as crazy as he got, a lot of his actions would have been the right call considering they were living in a goddamn zombie apocalypse.
It's always 2-3 episodes that drag, followed by one or two that keep you glued to the couch watching.

What would be good is re-grouping and moving to either:
1. The next big storyline (which, frankly, is more subtle and nuanced (and a bit repetitive....), and about attempting to have a normal "daily life" in the post-apocylpic world, than AMC will probably want to try and tackle, lest they risk boring their audience). or 2. The one after that, which catches us up to the current state of affairs, and there is a CLEAR antagonist who makes the Governor look like a little bitch (tho, to be fair, AMC did a great job with giving the character considerable depth relative to his comic counterpart, while at the same time making him waaaaaay less -- if you can imagine that -- ruthless than the comic version. or...

Well, it looks like Lizzie has gone off the deep end. Killing rabbits just to kill them, nearly suffocating Judith (good thing Carol showed up), and general sense of crazy about her. I bet they'll end up using her and Mika to tell Ben and Billy's storyline from the comic.
And Abraham is in the house! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Glen's survival instinct was my favorite part. Gathering useful resources from the prison.
