There's no way that group of people with the compulsion to do the absolute wrong thing in any situation makes it 20 years.

From what I read, the spinoff is supposed to have zero connection to the original group.

Well looks like I called the Governor debut almost perfectly. As for Carol I think she will be gone until the end of the season to keep a tension between Rick and Darrel. I would like to think the show isnt stupid enough to write Darrel off on a goose chase looking for her that could make him pointless for the rest of the season. After all he is the majority of fans favorite character.
By the way things are shaping up I see myself a little bored over the next few episodes leading up to a boring season ending with no kind of real closure. We will see! Oh that scene with Rick and Carl unloading on the herd was soooo COD Zombies lol

Spin-off could be a prequel. Don't really know where they'd go with that, but it could be interesting.

The characters bear less and less resemblance all the time to the characters from the comic and the plot is totally off doing its own (frequently terrible) thing.

I will freely admit that last season had more than a few moments but this season has been much better overall. I am liking the way things are going. I'll be interested to see how Rick handles the Tyrese situation on this week's episode, specifically what he tells him, if anything, about the murders and where Carol went if he doesn't.

So last night was interesting and sets up for future events. Its the back story of the Governor after the prison shoot-out and when he kills his own people from last season.

I would say interesting is a good way to put it. I don't generally like episodes that never get back to the main group.
It was interesting to see that the Governor was actually effected by his actions after the attack on the prison. He basically shutdown, and the two guys that were with him left him for being dead weight. My main question at the moment is what is the time gap between this episode and the scene where he was standing outside of the prison, and it's he still with this other group at that point. On a side note, am I the only one that thinks they need to calm down with all the singing (whether it's track in the background or Beth being annoying)? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Oh for Christ's sake.
Why is AMC trying to make the Governor sympathetic? Why is he even still alive? Why have they set it up where -- completely contrary to the comic -- Michonne really has no specific reason to be going after him (she was not brutally beaten and raped by him, as in the comic), whereas the ol' Gov kind of does have a reason to be vengeful towards Michonne (she took his eye and put down his zombified daughter -- and lets not forget that in both comic and tv show, Michonne kept zombie companions, so if THAT's Michonne's primary issue with the Gov, it's ******* ridiculous... and if it's his treatment of the others from Rick's group, it's only marginally less ridiculous). Oh my god -- all the writers need to be fired again and Kirkman needs to take 5 minutes to stop cashing royalty checks to try and reign in the utterly pointless plot developments of the whole freaking season So far... Nearly everyone who joined the group from Woodbury has died of the flu (?!) An impossible to satisfactorily resolve power struggle reared its head between Carol and Rick, resulting in him sending her away with desperately needed supplies his group couldn't afford to lose (?!) The Gov has a Jesus beard and is doing good deeds while he dreams about (weirdly defensible) thoughts of revenge -- thus making him a very sympathetic villain, rather than the ultra-violent, pretty much nonredeemable psychopath, torturer, murderer, and rapist he is (in the comic...). Ugh... brains... brains... the show is eating my brains... In other news, #19 of the comic is on its way to me

The Governor will get mean again....don't worry. My question is....whats after the prison? will they go someplace else? I say that huge heard near the vet school makes it way to the prison and over runs the place.

They skipped the cannibals story and who knows if they'll bother with the Goose-chase-for-a-Cure story (which introduces a few new characters) since they already blew up the CDC, Resident Evil style Ha ha ha -- I thought that exact same thing Quote:

I gave up on hoping to see some of my favorite moments from the comic, and comparing the two in general.
This way I don't get pissed at inconsistencies, and enjoy the nods back to the "original" story. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
