Ugh...

Very uneven episode.

I'm not even going to get into the fact that you can't logically send someone away for fear of them hurting your post-apocalyptic-surviving-by-a-thread-group AND give them a car load of desperately needed supplies as a parting gift out of sentimentality.

It just doesn't work. It's dumb.

But they couldn't have a Rick vs. Carol showdown because there'd be no way to resolve it that wouldn't upset a large chuck of viewers (i.e., you can't Kill Rick and if he kills her it seems awfully misogynistic...), so after writing themselves into a corner, they went for a sappy "break-up" ending complete with goofy "heartbroken" music outro.

Boo. Hiss.

Also, I hope they don't blow the whole season on the flu. It's just a mechanism for killing off all the new people they picked up who are deemed irrelevant to the broader plot without springing for Zombie make-up or developing a real storyline for anyone. Terrible.

Otherwise, performances were good, directing was good, use of LESS dialog was good in some scenes (e.g., the "quieter" more withdrawn Rick).

Well duhh, the prison has a car wash....that's how they keep the Hyundai and Toyotas so clean despite all the bloody entrails from the walkers on them. Its Carl's job to keep them clean for punishment after he killed that other kid. As for the cow, well ever been cow tipping? Damm things fall right over, really do.

/\ I read this and the first thing that popped in my head was an image of a guy washing and wazing his Z with zombies milling about in the distance in some post apocalyptic landscape.

I actually enjoyed the episode, although I rolled my eyes at the supposed conflict in Hershel to be a pragmatist vs. a "savior of souls".

It felt like a decent jolt after all of the running around with nothing going on for the past few weeks, and the albeit perfect timing of the drugs arriving from the veterinary college is too good to be true, it leaves the disease behind for the Governator (heh) to return. Will be interesting to watch, now that the prison walls are nowhere near safe.

edit: I didn't know whether to think Maggie had balls of steel, or was just an idiot for taking that shot with the respirator there. That was unbelievably dumb.

Agree, she is annoying. I view this episode as bring artsy typed. Next week Rick will have it out with Daryl about Carol. Maybe the Govenor has captured carol?
