Worst Movie Remakes

What were some of the worst movie remakes ever done? There's probably quite a few.

Conan the Barbarian (2011) is right up there for me.
The Fog (2005) is a close second.

The original was bad in many ways but the car chase scene made up for all the cheesy acting and porn like sound quality. Still better than the remake which really only shared the name and a bit of storyline.

Get Carter. Hard to top Michael Caine in his prime. Stallone's version was just ok.

Then while we're on the topic of Michael Caine, lets talk "The Italian Job". Have watched the original a few times and enjoyed that but I cannot make it through the remake.

The original Oceans 11 was a cheese fest, but still I think better than the remake franchise thanks mainly to Sammy Davis Jr.

I wonder what Hollywood is up to butchering next?

Man, I really hope they leave "Bullit" alone. That movie needs no remake!

Deep Throat 2. It wasn't as deep as the original.

Sometimes a subtle copying of the theme works better.
"Pretty Woman" is really just an updated "My Fair Lady" without the music, and I liked both.
Does that make me a bad person?
;-)

EDIT:
Or "The Trouble with Harry" which is remarkably like "Weekend at Bernie's" - both of which are pretty good for their day.

If they do Casablanca over, I might have to hurt someone, though!

How about someone remakes the Wizard of Oz, but closer to the TV Guide description that it once received: "Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again."
:rofl2:

They seldom are, after doing it once!

Tried to watch the remake of Dune. No.

I will take the quirky less polished original - Dune.
