I loved this movie! Not just because of the hype from other people and all the commercials. It had a great story line and a lot of different lessons to walk away with. I mean I was amazed. I do agree give the movie about a half hour to get warmed up. But man I felt life everything was real. Very good graphics and audio. I WILL be seeing this movie at least 4 more times while in theaters. At least once in an imax as well. Just stunning. I know you read this and think it is sort of childish but wow amazing movie. As many movies as I watch it takes a lot to impress me "watch at least 3 movies a day" A must see movie!
My fandango review. I know that a lot of people are seeing this movie for the hype or because everyone else is seeing it. I am a hard person to please as I watch at least 10 movies a week and expect a lot. I left the movie theater smiling and amazed. Simply the best movies I have seen in years. The graphics are lifelike as with the audio is amazing as well. I will say that the 3D seemed a little out of being lifelike as if animated. But than again it could of been me. I highly recommend this movie. I plan on seeing it again in imax and at least 2 more times after that. A must see movie. If you have not been to the movies in a while this is the time to go again! |
I have heard great things about this movie as well. Looked a little over CGI'd but everyone I've talked to that have seen it said it was amazing.

|
Even though I have seen it. I can not wait to see it again!

saw it at midnight thursday ...it was awesome in 3D even though the story line really was dancing with smurfs meets last samuari meets Fern gully
|
I wanna see this also lol
|
Saw it yesterday and really liked it. Visually amazing.
I didn't see it in 3D though. Is this a must? |

Well, looks like I need to find an IMAX.
Movie related - Sherlock Holmes looks good and I am a fan of Guy Rickie. Movie should include an Iron Man 2 trailer! |

I saw it this past Fri. and O'man it's a 3-D break through the movie is freakin' sweet. I saw it in real D 3D, I felt like I was part of the movie. Well, I'm going to watch it again in I-Max which has a larger screen.
|
I do not think many people will NOT see it again.
|
Went to see it again today. This time got a little water eyed. Great movie!

awesome movie, story didn't compel me so much as the graphics and visuals did tho. probably the best use of 3d i've ever seen in a movie. it was there in every scene but it wasn't like a 3d demonstration with people throwing things at the screen for effect. very impressed. worth the money to see it in the theaters for sure
watch this review lol: http://my.spill.com/video/video/show...ideo%3A1851383 |
i kept hearing that the movie was decent/good but the visuals were phenomenal. i can agree that the movie looked awesome, but the plot and everything was also very good. i was a little irked by the final fight scene (1v1) but other than that it was a great movie through and through. i'll definitely be watching this again. even my gf felt the same, as did one of my friends who has something bad to say about everything.

Movie just broke a Billion $ Internationally! Must be a few people that like it. Heck, my sons seen it twice and wants to see it again.
Personally, I look forward to Iron Man 2, looks great. |
This movie is projected to surpass Titanic in sales. Ive seen it twice and once in Imax 3d. Gotta say i throughly enjoyed it, defiantly recomend it to anyone.
|
I saw it a third time yesterday. Still amazing and is it just me or has anyone else teared up during this movie. I have done it both for just the beauty of the scenes and the music, and other parts like when she is holding him. "did not want to go into details" But is this just me?

Just something that I had to share. I can not stop smiling.
'Avatar' Breaks 'Titanic' Worldwide Box-Office Record - Movie News Story | MTV Movie News That is all |
Somebody I know called it "live-action Fern Gully" the other day. I lol'd.
I saw it opening night with my gf and the film fell off the reel something like 2:30 hours in. It was the part where the Colonel is briefing before the big showdown and the camera pans to a monitor overhead and then the monitor went blank. For about 5 or 10 seconds I think we all thought it was part of the movie. Then came the popcorn and the booing. Then some AMC employee walks in and tells us that we'll get our money back, but the movie will not be set back up. Apparently, they were using one reel for two different theaters side by side (playing at the same time). So not one, but two whole theaters full of people got fawked. Movie blue balls for everybody. |
My quick review:
~Visuals were top notch, but almost expected it with how much he spent on the movie. ~Story, well lets just say he attempted here. Overall this movie did well as it was hyped up to be visually stunning, but after you looked past that it was a pretty subpar movie in terms of story, acting, etc. |
My quick review:
Terrible story (white man's guilt) with great visuals. |

Plot holes in avatar:
■Why use avatars if they're not to be kept secret? ■If the Na'vi know from the get-go that these ''Dreamwalkers'' are biological shells remotely controlled by humans, why do they trust them? ■What is the deal with Eywa? Shortly after Sully (Sam Worthington) and Na'vi girl Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) meet, the seeds of Eywa float down and determine that Sully, despite being human, is pure of heart. Then he tells his commander (Stephen Lang) about how to destroy the sacred Hometree, thus proving Eywa is a lousy judge of character. Yet the Na'vi, knowing all this, stick to their beliefs. ■Why is Unobtainium so valuable? ■Why send in avatar ambassadors to negotiate and ''make friends'' with the Na'vi if you're just going to go ahead and bulldoze their forest anyway? ■During the Hometree attack, chopper pilot Trudy (Michelle Rodriguez) opts out and flies off. Why doesn't her crew object? Why doesn't anybody give chase? And why doesn't the commander, who has just lectured us about how highly he values loyalty, tear Trudy a new one? This makes her appearance in the brig to free Sully and co implausible. ■And when she steals the helicopter, why doesn't anybody chase her? ■Though central command can tell when she turns the helicopter on, they somehow can't track where she goes or determine the location of the portable lab she picks up. ■After Sully is put into his avatar he runs out into the compound, where we see a whole lot of other avatars. What happened to them? ■Why does the company maintain no control over the avatar program, even though it owns it? ■If Dr Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) is so intent on preserving Na'vi culture, why doesn't she tell her boss (Giovanni Ribisi) about the money-printing healing properties of Na'vi medicine? Not disparaging the movie I liked it...but this is pretty interesting. |
