The target audience is not strictly just car enthusiasts. We all moan and groan at how inaccurate the race scenes were and how bad the dialog was along with the acting. But I'll be damned if not one of us walked out of any of those movies with an urge to go drive the hell out of our cars.
The movie HAD to be Hollywoodized or it wouldn't have attracted a larger audience who wanted to see good looking actors and a ton of action. Fast cars, explosions, wrecks, guns etc is the formula for an action movie. Would I watch a F&F movie over Beetlejuice narrating a secret race between a few supercars? I think I would.
With that being said, Paul Walker lived his life in a way a lot of us think we would if given the opportunity. That's what makes his passing so sad. Any guy with that kind of car collection and dying the way he did really does back up the fact that he was very much an enthusiast. Just like the rest of us. And if that thought doesn't stick with you at the end of Fast 7, well you won't need a kleenex then. Just be warned the lights come on pretty quick at the end, don't get caught being a softy if that is going to ruin your image.
Any F&F movie without him is going to be missing a huge element.
