Extreme Quad Core CPU
Blu-Ray DVD player.
x2 SSD 128GB Drives in RAID-0.

Paid around 6500 for it a year and 4 months ago.

You can get a new tricked out alienware laptop for a lot less than that. Infact I went crazy just now using their configuration wizard and made one for $3099 without any rebates or coupons added.

And yes it was a M17x and it included a DUAL GPU setup, 8GB of RAM, Blu-Ray player and a core i7 CPU.

Your model will sell for about $1500.

that i7 CPU isnt Extreme version meaning it doesnt have **** for Cache memory or the clock speeds.


Consoles are retarded. they dont have 1/4 of the power and flexibility that a computer has.

Those aren't alienware anymore, they are Dells with alienheads on them. They use the cheapest parts instead of basing on performance.

Price is negotionable. Or even tradable for some wheels

and the corei7 is just as formidable as your cpu.

again like the guy said theres no way this laptop is worth close to that. 1750 gets you a core i7 720. 8gb ram, blu-ray, 2x 500gb in raid, radeon 5870 w/ gb ddr5. 17.3 led screen, mic, camera etc etc etc.

What game are you playing that can't be played on a 360, or a PS3?

Also Dell has owned Alienware for quite some time now. Alienware hasn't been the exclusive brand it used to be for at least six or seven years. If you're looking for that, head over to Falcon-NW.

Like the other guy said, the i7 is all you need. The EE is completely worthless as far as OC'ing goes unless you are on something above water -- which, uh, you aren't going to be on a laptop.

Not really trying to stir **** here, but I don't want to see someone buy a very expensive laptop and not get what they are paying for.

edit: also the cooling on those is notoriously bad! if you buy this, invest in some sort of external laptop cooler.

I have to say the 2x 128GB SSD is the best part about this computer, thats like 600 bucks right there, but the i7s are so damn fast compared to the old core 2 quads, and 9800 even in sli is slower than a single gtx480 or 5970.

Like the person above said 1500 is a better price for it, it sucks that computer parts are just evolving so fast, if you buy top of the line like the alien ware, falcon, you are going to be taking a big big hit within 1-2 years.
