Antix looks HOT! Free bump! :bump:

Well, I bought the GASCAN S (small) last month. LOVE the design of this glass. But if you look at the picture closely, you'll see that the ear frame curves "in". This causes me to have headache as it pinches my head . I was thinking about either a. changing it for regular GASCAN or b. sell it. Haven't decided yet. I do kinda like the way hijinx looks :yum:

yeah i want the antix real bad.. but cant justify 3 pairs of glasses so i wanna unlaod these first.. the polarized unique they are flat black with a gloss logo.. i found out you can get it like that without the polarized for 130 ($50 less) if you custom make them on oakley.com so i might just go that route.. either way im getting a pair soon

i went and tried a pair of the antix on and i had my hijinx with me.. they are almost the same shape exactly except for the lense being like a one piece snowboard goggle look on the antix... but the flat black with gloss O was pretty cool...

the twitch are sorta squared off around the eye like the gascans

Florida_GATOR 04-23-2010 12:40 AM

I have the regular Gascans, and i love them, they fit perfectly

pompey 04-23-2010 12:49 AM

they shades do look good, but i gotta say i love fuel cell shades, white with dark tint is the stuff

cab83_750 04-25-2010 02:12 AM

You guys are lightweights. I have about 8 pairs. My head and my face are too big and only Oakley seem to fit well. :)

+1

nuTinmuch 04-26-2010 07:32 AM

I'll pass these on to a couple friends of mine.

Personally I have an old pair of Splices and a Whisker I just recently bought.

I'd love to have a pair of Juliets but I just can't justify spending that much money on sunglasses. :(

DIGItonium 04-26-2010 08:19 AM

Are any of them polarized?

Thanks Matt! Can't wait to get it.

BTW, ANTIX looks f'ing awesome! Def on my list! Looks great! Which config did you end up going with? (I am guessing Matte black frame with polarized?)

MC 04-26-2010 06:16 PM

matte /polarized/ gloss black "O"

DIGItonium 04-26-2010 11:10 PM

I may be interested, but I didn't catch whether the Twitch was polarized or not. Thx!

MC 04-26-2010 11:57 PM

no they arnt polarized not sure if the Twitch come polarized or not.. i think i gave maybe $100 for them or something like that last year they are gloss black with the "warm grey" lense color

schrute 04-27-2010 12:15 AM

This thread is making me want a new pair of sunglasses...

MC 04-27-2010 12:26 AM

Sold

MC 04-28-2010 03:24 PM

ok this is random but on topic...

can someone explain to me the science behind this:

ever since i got my polarized antix when im driving in my car and look out the tinted windows either the side or rear it looks like im looking through a faint rainbow or like how when there is oil in water and the sun shines on it can you can see a spectrum of colors

DIGItonium 04-29-2010 07:14 AM

I believe it has something to do with tempered glass. Read the very last paragraph in this article:

HowStuffWorks "How does safety glass work?"

I wondered the same thing and thought I was getting trippy :icon14:

Matt 04-29-2010 01:04 PM

I have never purchased a pair of sunglasses in my life. I hate purposely obstructing my view.

The only time I've ever worn sunglasses was in Iraq, for obvious reasons. Sunglasses are weird, especially why anyone would pay more than $20 for any pair.

DIGItonium 04-30-2010 07:12 AM

I think most of it has to do with the brand, and the material quality is much better than what I'd get at Walmart. However, I doubt the material quality would justify the actual cost passed down to consumers as well. The crap at Walmart is paper thin like cellophane wrap, scratches, and gets hazy after cleaning it a few times.

This this this this.

I was totally with you on the price, Matt. Me and my dad used to go out jet skiing though and when you are going fast on the water you need something over your eyes or they water like crazy. Oakley was the only company that made sunglasses that fit to my face perfectly while preventing most wind from hitting my eyes, so I had to bite the bullet and drop $150.

That was 8 years ago and I still have that pair. Up until recently I wore them every sunny day (nothing is wrong with my old set, I just wanted to buy a more mature looking frame). I don't have a picture of them, but they don't have a single scratch on either the frame or glasses.

Not only that but Oakley's lenses are beautiful to look through. They don't obstruct your view and even the colored ones have excellent clarity over distance.

Yes, it is true that they have some expensive frames thanks to their name being associated with style or w/e but trust me -- their price is backed up by quality.
